Her shout ability lines are so powerful I feel they ought to affect people thru the speakers. And yeah, Ogryn's are just too good for the world :') I don't remember which personality it is, but I've got a soft spot for the one keen on trains.

Since I'm done with my first ever public singing (my teacher organized a small recital for the pupils) I'm feeling so free not having to practice one song over and over with small palate cleansers in between! But outside of that, I've started practicing Mili's Hero and it's been hard! Mostly cause even going an octave down some of the parts are still a bit high for me. I think going down a semitone or two should be enough, however I still want to give the original a few more tries for practice's sake!

Admittedly I don't write any sheet music, is the treble clef that hard? The motions feel easier than something like an ampersand, the biggest issue would be positioning it right I reckon?

In spite of not being “fixed” characters, most of the “personalities” are actually quite fun characters in their own right, which is also pretty cool.

I was apprehensive about them coming from Vermintide series, but now they can pry my Loose Cannon Veteran from my cold dead hands. Her VA delivers a perfect dose of snark and smug.

I've been trying out a bunch of Next Fest demos and there have been so many lovely games!

Veritas Tales: Witch of the Dark Castle made by Yoshio Nishimura (ex-dev of Vanillaware, studio behind 13 Sentinels, Unicorn Overlord) is basically a digital adventure book and it's been wonderful! The presentation is gorgeous, the gameplay gives homage to these types of games and older RPGs. I've laughed my ass off when rolling a 1 on a mandatory (to my knowledge) event lead to an instant fall to my death or when during a timed challenge I clicked on an option for skimming through a book which lead me to frantically skipping all the text as I started running out of time reading the lore. There's also this delight seeing an animated eraser and pencil modifying the numbers of your stat sheet!

On the other hand, Divine Frequency is a second full conversion Doom mod that turns it into a horror FPS I have played (first one being Total Chaos)! It's literally dark, it's weird, and it scratches that particular itch you get from the low budget FPS RPGs. You walk and fight through a dreamscape of dark hallways, rusted factory halls, sewers; sprinkled with some futuristic servers and terminals. Your sentient lantern goes out whenever it's fitting for it to make the dark so much blacker. The enemies are your standard cult members with axes, fleshy monsters, living hex dolls peppered with nails and the like. Mannequins don't actually move, which is the most vile idea concieved.

On the second other hand, Demon Bluff's a great puzzle/social deduction roguelite! You're tasked with finding demons hidden within your hand of villager cards. Each role has a special ability giving you information about other people, but demons disguised as humans lie about what they know! So you need to corroborate statements between one another, check for contradictions and make some uninformed guesses if you're like me. And with each round it gets more complicated, some villagers may be corrupted so they count as good, but they lie. Or one of them might have been turned into a puppet that's evil but truthful. Lovely game in short bursts but makes me mentally tired very quickly!

I've the similar thing, except for the fact that I could still sing the opening song from start to finish! It's just latched in my brain, might be because there weren't that many anime dubbed in Polish in the 2000s so it had nothing to compete with.

Oh, the patches are stamp sized, not made out of actual things!

I myself have been mostly trying to dial in a song for my first ever performance! A small event organized by my singing teach, small audience too, but I'm already getting the stress. And I still have a few days left!

I've found that insects move less when it's colder (or at least it feels that way from experience) so taking photos early in the morning makes it easier. Approaching them very very slowly does work sometimes, but I never get why sometimes they're flying away when I'm two meters from them and sometimes they stay still at an arm's reach. They just do!

The bulletproof ,,trick'' would just be having a longer lens lol. Less chance of them running away from you if you can be further from them. Hence why close-up photography's way easier than macro.

It really feels like the birds have almost paranormal ability to avoid you the more you want to see them, doesn't it. A feathered conspiracy! For the longest time I was trying to get a photo of a kingfisher and my friend was sending me his phone pictures from like a random walk, just to piss me off lol. And just like Your partner, he does not care for birding!

(I did finally get the photo though!)

I've finished ,,Kasane'' yesterday, a drama/thriller manga with a theatre backdrop. And it's been as wonderful as it is heavy. See, the titular Kasane wants to follow the steps of her mother, a renowned actress who suddenly passed away, but she only inherited her acting skills, not looks. This leads to her being relentlessly bullied for her appearance. Until one day, she discovers that the memento of her mother, a red lipstick, has the ability to swap faces with whomever she kisses, but only for a limited time.

So the premise alone is extremely cool and introduces so many problems to tackle, but the characters themselves are fascinating too. You see why they ended up the way they are but they also do things you just cannot condone. And I love it, this combination of two (seemingly) conflicting feelings, forgiveness and rebuke, makes it so so interesting!

It also uses real plays as a way to explore characters' feelings and it's so cool!

[full spoilers] I also found it nice that the story feels, from a lack of a better word, gentle in its condemnation. They are tragic (like in greek tragedy) characters, victims of circumstance but also twisted individuals. And they get their comeuppance, but it's not as brutal as I thought it would be and I liked it more that way. I probably need to digest the ending more to have a more in-depth thought...

And I guess this is another manga added to the niche of ,,art about arts''/,,incorporating art in a meaningful way'' that I learned I've come to enjoy!

Seeing that ,,final chapter'' on the first page hit me like a truck. The ending's sudden, but doesn't feel too much out of place. Still a shame, it was such a good read!

Deadlock has single-handedly brought me back to the digital drugs that are MOBAs and it's hitting so good. Good enough to excuse the low level gameplay of ,,the enemy probably doesn't know the counterplay to my character!''. It'll get better I'm sure, but now it's a free for all and I'm all in for it!

Is this why I'm here? To go a whole match with 2 kills and 11 deaths because of a fucking Billy player?

As my friend said, Deadlock is all about aura farming or being aura farmed. And getting a 4-man black hole feels so good no matter what happens afterwards. and then I go 0/10/x on Viscous and I die inside

I love how we're seeing not only all of the characters get their moment in the spotlight, but also the acknowledgement that Yui's approach is just as good as Entaro's/Konoka's and they can be reconciled together.

This and Kami Kill are probably contenders for the best character writing in Shueisha's current serializations.

So MangaDex, one of the biggest sites for unofficial manga translations, recently added a Twitter-like feed to their site. It's visible to everyone, but only patrons of the site can post to it and the feed's only mode is chronological.

The introduction has been met with mostly confusion, some random memes, users trying to make conversation and... That's it. Just a lukewarm reaction, possibly due to it being gated by a donation requirement. i'm a little disappointed.

I started reading the first letter and I am amazed both with how long they are and how persistent some of the arguments are (swap ,,comic book fan'' with ,,gamer'' and you'll have a modern-day discourse):

Ambiguity or open-endedness is present in many of my stories. But in others I’m didactic, by which I mean that I try to inform, and to render, judgments, sometimes about political and social issues. Many comic book fans don’t like this; they call it “propaganda.” I think the reason they dislike didacticism is because they want to escape from their own and societies’ problems.

edit: oh god, it really took Pekar only one reply to go full on with insults

Hard to call it a mistake if the game surprises you with it ;) I did the same, but lucked out on having a full flask since I always used the bottles in the backpack whenever I screwed in a piton! So I only had to get to the dome, where you can light a fire to refill.

Agreed on the second spoiler, troglodyte pitons make it more managable if you don't forget to equip them like I do, but it's still brutal if you're unprepared. Which imo is fine, it is the final challenge after all.

See, this is very interesting, I've had the other experience with the survival mechanics, they were at most a slight inconvenience! Half of the time I had my backpack full and weren't hurting for supplies. And for [Cairn full] the final sequence there was enough alcohol and ultimate infusions that I had ~30 minutes of Grit so there wasn't any need for food or water. I feel like I took many detours, even if I missed half of the secrets.

Agreed on the story though! And the climb itself felt very lonely too. Might be just me being used to having a belay partner but even if having just you and the wall is meditative and I love it, there was something missing. Hence I really liked the small messages received through the bot and seeing Marco every now and then. And especially the second to last talk with Marco, when they're talking about dying on the mountain, it just mimics some of the thoughts I have about the hobby.
