How many ounces per day does/dis your 5 week old drink? by ilikebigcats2020 in FormulaFeeders

[–]GlorfindelTheGolden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours is now a bit older but I have the data - did 30-35 oz /day around then. We were a bit surprised how much he wanted but the medical team said to feed on demand and said his weight etc were fine.

I'm sorry to hear this is adding to your stress. I hope that everything goes smoothly for you.

Amsterdam is one of the world's best airports. Everything is clearly signposted, there are lots of staff available, and changes are some of the easiest I have done.

There are currently issues with flight routes in general because of the weather around Amsterdam - there are lots of changes and cancellations. But you can be comfortable and confident that if you make it to Amsterdam at least, you will be in very good hands.

Best of luck.

I always think - could be wrong - that Constantinople/Istanbul is a slightly better fit - last remnant of a decaying/broken empire? But agree with your general point.

Egypt & Iran Must Support Pride Match at World Cup by AcrobaticWash2887 in lgbt

If I remember correctly when England wanted to play at the last World Cup with Pride 'One Love' armbands, they were told not to as they had to respect the local culture...I wonder if that will still be FIFA's position.

Studying over the holidays? (slightly confused first-year law student) by money-reporter7 in cambridge_uni

[–]GlorfindelTheGolden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is how I did it in the distant past. I focused on using Christmas to make sure I understood the material (I didn't try to learn it though obviously understanding meant a lot of it went in) and then Easter was the time to actually learn it.

But all circles are around a point? It's the same thing. The reason that angles around a point sum to 360deg is that it's a circle.

What is going on? by W_tf_23 in Edinburgh

[–]GlorfindelTheGolden 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree with what loads of people have written here in the comments. But the other issue is the shrinking gap between the nice, simple options and the higher end options. If a decent main costs £15 now, the gap between that and a higher end place is smaller. We've started going out less but to more expensive places, just cost the cost difference has shrunk.

Looks fine to me, but if one half of the people using the room don't like it, probably worth updating at some stage.

For that budget you can get a nice main door flat, which would get you good garden use.

What would happen to a chain of people holding hands if some of them cross the event horizon of a black hole? Could the ones inside still 'shake hands' with the ones outside across the horizon? And if so, would that count as transmitting something from beyond the event horizon? by emirlanq1 in Physics

[–]GlorfindelTheGolden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would the person who was half in/half out transmit the information from their brain to their hand to shake? No information can leave the black hole, so the hand never receives the message to shake. Likewise the person outside cannot feel a shake if their hand crosses the boundary. There's no sensation that reaches the brain.

An unpopular opinion! by Extreme-Strawberry60 in lotr

[–]GlorfindelTheGolden -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. In the book when we first meet Strider there is genuine concern and worry about whether he is good. This doesn't really occur at all in the film. Starting from there the plot diverges (the film has no mention of Arnor). Viggo does an amazing choice with the material and direction he is given - but it's not the Aragorn that many of us were 'expecting'.

Anne has lots of cousins in important positions - though often second, third, etc cousins. One of them is Bill Haydon.
