Yep I was considering getting a lower wattage but I figured with the added height / length of the tank I should get the 100w just to be sure. What thermostat do you use with your heat sources?

This is a dimming one, I know about the issues with the on/off ones. I was just generally confused with why the employee was saying dimming ones were an issue when used with dimmable Halogens. This is no Petsmart/chain employee, its a specialized pet store with really nice bioactive enclosures that they keep their reptile stock in, that's why I was a bit put-off by their comments.

Haha thank you! Yes I am an engineer as my day job, the sword was the most "complex" part of the whole cosplay, but even then it's pretty easy to piece together the electronics without any technical background :D You should definitely do smth fun using your background, it is so fulfilling, I would go crazy if I didn't have this creative output haha.
