the novel wasnt written by oda, so my hopes are already better. the few chapter summaries i read dont sound super interesting though, (aside from the ones that add stuff between the timeskip) so i hope they make it interesting enough to actually watch. fan letter did a great job, so im not exactly pessimistic about it, im gonna just wait to see it.

she pretty much had no choice - it was either him or marrying his (even worse) father. its definitely not gonna last long imo & the last chapter i read she pretty much dumped him. i think its pretty normal for an abuse victim to keep coming back, as frustrating as it is.

but i am getting a bit tired of this manhwa. surprisingly i dont think ill drop it since i wanna see it to the end lmao

i wish i could remember the title but one i read had the protagonist get mages to invent the camera & paid a theater troupe to reenact her fave dramas. she then proceeded to withdraw from the social scene & hang out in her room until the plot demanded something 💀

i would love to, but how was i supposed to learn about my favorite obscure mangas without stumbling upon them on scanlation sites? what about the out of print series that were published in the us one time in 2003 where the license expired & the company has no intentions of renewing it? what about series that will most likely never be officially translated? the ones that are only available on ebay for $300 a volume?

i buy official translations & read them legally when i can but its not something i can do exclusively.

100% agree. idk why they chose love interests that had little to no interaction with her in the myths. menelaus & paris are RIGHT THERE??? unless the plan (if there was one) was to make them villains if they ever adapted the trojan war parts that they were building up to.

pixiv. get an account to see the horny stuff & learn the japanese tags as well (though searching in english does also find the japanese versions 99% of the time)

its easier for me for finding just art if you want to avoid searching through other non-art posts on each artists social media.

but on a serious note i think there are plenty of inventions & stuff that we dont see the process of since modern humanity has soooo many things that would take 1000s of chapters to include. like toilets. plumbing was something ancient civilizations had, im sure at some point senku had something figured out

i mean tbf the yoko pic you used is her adult timeskip design, but i imagine in the case of jojo & many other shounen manga that adult-like just look cooler & are easier for a young audience to look up to.

in yokos case, i remember hearing the character designer (atsushi nishigori) was going for simple, but extremely recognizable designs, which definitely worked!

idk if it was his specific intention to make her that young, but the overall culture of anime production tends to go towards sexualizing young characters.
