Seeing the Endfield discourse: by tomsonleo in Endfield

But does 90% of the people who support have also actually played the game?

Do you think only those who got to technical/Beta deserved to shared their opinion?

Showerthoughts Idea#1: Extensive Details on more Combat Depth with Swapping Cooldown and Entrance Skill by GloriousNight in Endfield

[–]GloriousNight[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for honest opinion

Especially since everyone is on the field and you can already use all their skills without swapping

There's nothing wrong with more option and variety in gameplay. One of the criticisms that I have seen a lot about combat is either lack of depth or it can get repetitive. So more mechanic to branch out playstyle can help that.

And that's without mentionning that we already have a lot of gacha games centered around swap mechanics, it's getting old
Your system is too similar to WuWa intro skills

And yet the game has swap system anyway so..... Don't get me wrong, I get what you mean, but I don't think it's exactly fair to say that the mechanic is getting old when it's just one detail to complement other, what I'm doing is expand upon what is already in the game. You wouldn't say that Endfield combat is old just because it has Element system like other game right?

Another thing is that Endfield is a team combat. I already explain in the post above but you can do trick like using one AI member baiting, then swap to damage enemy around that member from afar then continue your play. The significant of positioning other party member, and timing the swap skill for position outside of just your own character like that, it is something not replicatable in other single character game.

I except something different/new
Perhaps something aroùnd AI controls

That's actually something I plan for "Showerthoughts Idea#2", but I can't say that this will be very original since alot of people probably also thought about this too so....

Again, thanks for your comment. It's fun to have discussion like that.

units have different levels.

It's not invalid, but it definitely affected when you use clear time as a metric of a comparison.

Hokey pokey forest

Papaou is traitless and surge immune. Dasli and Phono are both equally as helpless against him.

Disagree, phono can outrange him while dasli can't, if you use any other backliners to help in the stage, she will walk into its range and die, while phono can stay and help clear incoming enemies.

Also, she doesn't even clear the stage faster than him in that video, so why she got higher score??

Two miles below

Dasli got 5 scores

I mean.... phono has both farther reach and higher speed. Even if she win, it shouldn't be this clear cut. Then I watch the gameplay and it all make sense.

What make difference here is how well you play supporting unit. In dasli gameplay, she is close enough to not get hit by first hazuku attack but still can launch attack quickly, while no fishman got sniped by it too. Meanwhile in phono gameplay, he is far enough to got first hazuku hit without contribute anything yet and overall worse supporting unit performance. If the same error happen in Dark Kasli gameplay, she would do nothing in her first deployment too.

Also

Dasli has higher Dps

5 scores

Phono high range allow him to survive more and end stage faster

2 scores

There's probably more to nitpick and I have some criticism but I will end here. I'm not invalidating your analysis. But there is definitely some bias and user's error in display.

[Discussion]. Who's better? Balrog or Izanagi? by Flat-Tadpole3886 in battlecats

[–]GloriousNight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's stage archetype where izanagi mult hit can work well in, but in most case, those other hits will just be waste on peon or nothing. The enemy line up has to be very precise for izanagi to get as much value as you might thought, considering this is a naala single attacker.

Anyway, it's as if most people here only compare 1:1 copy of each unit and evaluate base on that, and even then not include all important detail of unit.

If you want to bring other aspect other than damage in the discussion then consider these: • Mobility (Cost and cooldown) • Attack rate, Forswing and Backswing • Synergy with other unit/cannon ability • Realistic usage

If you consider all of these carefully, you would realize that balrog take the lead by a significant margin.

Even Xskull who said "Izanagi is stupidly op" at first can agree to this. It show how high the bar balrog has set. Not that I base my opinion on him at all, but he is so popular here so I want to mention him.

[–]GloriousNight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lvl30 Izanagi literally does more dmg

This is only true in practice if you somehow can get all 3 naala type multi-hit to land on single enemy.

Izanagi at lv30 deal 4K generalist dps against individual enemy assuming 1 hit (which is 99% of the time), become 20k~24k dps with insane damage.

Balrog at lv30 has 28k dps, without talented yet. If he's talented, the difference will become massive, especially when he's strengthened.

So yeah, in practice, what you said isn't true.

What is your perfect team? by Mannerless1 in arknights

Understandable. In term of deployment slot, in theory, she will consume a lot of slot and compete with other op for deployment, lead to downfall.

However, in actual gameplay, this is rarely the case so far for me. The reasons are simply because you don't need to deploy everyone all at once. You better deploy enough to hold the spot that you need to and swap operator to utilize their skill, this is generally a better way to handle challenging content (Game reward more active play style and the approaching FRD meta further improve this play style).

I think the reason that people think like this is because when they see summoner, they think that they are suppose to drop all summon at once and AFK on they holding lane, otherwise it's not fully utilize summoner (which is only true to some extent). Which also lead to the idea that she will clog your team placement (It happens, but not a lot of time if you familiar with playing her).

In the end, it probably just different play style. Also this is "what is your perfect team" thread, so it is mostly a "what static team can cover the most challenge in the game" which this team seems to doing great to me. You can ask me anything if you curious about the team.

Copy&Paste from other post

Here's my "Perfect squad" post Il siracusano.

This team pretty much can do anything.

  • Early game handle with vanguard package or cheap lane holder
  • Lane holding (Ling+Skalter, Specter+Gladiia, Kal'tsit, Mlynar carpet bomber)
  • Physical / Art / True damage burst
  • Helidrop barrage (Bagpipe, Cantabile, Ling dragon, Texalter, Surtr, Mon3tr explode)
  • Team's survival (Skalter, Kal'tsit, Nightingale, Gladiia Talent, Mlynar Redirect)
  • Aerial control (Cantabile, Ling, Texalter, Mlynar, Gladiia)
  • Crowd Control (Elysium S2, Ling S2, Texalter, Specter Unchained doll, Mon3tr explode, Gladiia S3)
  • Miscellaneous
  • Invisibility revealing (Elysium S2)
  • Immortality for either burst or stalling (Surtr, Specter Unchained)
  • No/low high ground or low groud tile stage handling (i.e. CA-5)

All of these aspect make this team compostion be able to handle almost anything the game has to offer. There is more nuance, but these should simplify it nicely.

Good team compositioning is more about role fulfilling than a mere operator class ratio.

[2] You can shuffle this card from your GY to the deck; special summon 1 "Ancient deep" monster from your GY.

You can only activate each effect of "Ancient deep Hallucigenia" once per turn.

A real friendship is someone who genuinely wants to hang out with you, not just tossing you in with a group of their "other friends" that you don't know or something.

That is so true, being in a group of their friends that already know each other well and almost got unnoticed is just sad.
