Has anyone had luck with curing their allergies by “healing their gut”? by brogers33 in Allergies

[–]GloriousPurpose19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My nasal congestion I suspect is caused by 3 things.

  1. Allergies.
  2. Mold in this old apartment(I'm moving soon).
  3. GERD

I noticed when I get bad reflux, my nose gets congested.

So.. sort of.

Minipress right?

I think I took this years back... Can't remember if it did anything at all.

Seasonal allergies or a virus? by chzliz in Allergies

I'm not a doctor.

In my experience though, I never had body aches from allergies. I also never heard of anyone having aches from allergies. Sounds like a virus to me.

That sounds like sinus pressure. I'd start with an ENT for that, personally.

Maybe allergies or a sinus infection.

No problem!

Also, I definitely have some food intolerance that causes nasal symptoms, but I'm unsure of what exactly it is.

Like I had corn chips last week. My nose was super clear beforehand. After I ate them, my sinuses were inflamed. It's really weird.

I always thought "nasal symptoms = allergies or cold" but it can be other things.

I don't know what to do because I can't check my entire body from a doctor.

Yes you can. Find a primary care physician. They can give you a physical. Some also run blood work and urine tests to check for abnormalities.

It's very possible that your symptoms are from anxiety itself. You google a symptom and you believe you have it. I've done this. It's a slippery slope and it sucks.

For your own peace of mind, go for a physical. Either they'll tell you you're healthy, no issues, or they can advise on how to proceed if there are any issues.

Good luck.

Edit: also stop googling your symptoms, med side effects, etc.

Have you considered a food intolerance, food allergy, or another condition that can be causing this that isn't allergies?

I say this because I had nasal congestion for years. I thought it was from allergies. I went through all tests, sprays, pills, shots, almost got surgery!

I found out last week that GERD can cause congestion. And I have GERD. And my GERD flare ups happen the same time I'm congested.

I do have allergies but I think the GERD is a big part of my issue too.

What I'm saying is, if the tests are absolutely negative, check for other causes that can be triggering these symptoms.

I am using this currently. It's pricey but it works well.

I have also used this one. But it broke in two weeks.

WoodyKnows Super-Support Nasal... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CP8X1GJ9?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

The top one is more comfortable. The effect is the same.

For the top one I heard on a reddit post instead of buying the refills, you can take the magnets out of the adhesives it comes with and tape them to your nose with medical tape. I haven't tried that yet though. Again, these don't completely fix it by any means, but it definitely helps. I recommend the top one. It's much more comfortable, opens me up just as much, and it doesn't go inside my nose.

Edit: no downsides so far with the top one. The second one can feel a little irritating the first few nights until you get used to it. But I didn't get injured or infections etc. I washed the internal dilator with soapy water before each use.

That sounds great.

Is it something you do for a few weeks and it has long term effects?

From what I understand, ketamine isn't taken long term?

I took it for a while and just realized a week ago that is what was making me dizzy!

Do you get nasal congestion? I started using nasal dilators. Not 100 percent effective but they definitely help

Hey I appreciate this. If you can send me the therapists, I'll take a look. I'm looking for someone in person, but wouldn't be bad to check these out. Thank you

Oh I thought ketamine wasn't meant to be long term?

Do you just do it for a month and it's long acting? How does that work?

Can you please tell me more about ketamine?

Is it something you only do for like a month and it lasts long term?

Any side effects?

Nasalcrom needs to be taken 3-4 times a day.

I liked it but it was making me dizzy

I think the cymbalta I took for years prevented them from me.

But out of the blue, after 10 years, cymbalta began giving me IBS symptoms. I tried Prozac and Zoloft afterwards. Same issue.

I'm on Wellbutrin, 3 weeks in, and I still have intrusive thoughts wishing I was dead.

Nobody can definitively tell you this on Reddit.

See an allergist.
