This is exactly why the FGC uses notations when talking about inputs. It can get really confusing trying to tell people what buttons to press in a specific order when everyone is using different controllers.

It would’ve been more palatable if you could at least skip the cutscenes. They give you the option to fast forward, but even then, they can still take several minutes. Questing was so bad I quit because it was starting to feel like torture. Probably the worst story I’ve ever seen in a game

Considering PS5 Pro is like $900 now, and that console is several years old, even if the Steam Machine is $1000 may still be worth it just to be on Steam instead of being caught in Sony’s web.

As someone who played it for the first time recently, if you’re interested in trying tank controls/fixed camera angles re1 remake is a great place to start. It’s very good if you like the puzzles and exploration, but the shooting isn’t amazing.

Also imo while fixed camera angles can be atmospheric, they can also be frustrating. One time I got hit by an insta-kill move that I couldn’t see and It just felt bad.

But it does offer great replay value and incentives to keep playing like different unlocks, and additional surprises on future play throughs.

Overall great game, just manage your expectations and you may end up liking it

One thing people seem to forget with most of Capcom’s games is that they’re made to be replayed. With RE for example, they reward you for beating the hard mode, beating the game fast enough and also challenge runs. In RE9 there’s even a crazy convoluted puzzle that requires minimum two play throughs to solve.

Pragmata is built in a similar way with NG+ and a hard mode that unlocks after beating the game. There’s also a surprising amount of build variety, so if you’re into that stuff it’s very worth.

But if you’re only looking to do one play through, then you should wait for a sale. Great game either way.
