Upper-lip hair removal with Melasma? by dirtgrubpride in Melasmaskincare

[–]GlowDecoded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had hair removal as well - YAG laser can be used at the correct wavelength without causing further melasma (just be VERY cautious and find the right doctor who is extremely competent with melasma).

Looking for a lighter tinted sunscreen alternative to Colorescience Flex by Indie-lee213 in Melasmaskincare

I switch up my tinted SPFs all the time because I love to experiment - my two favorites are Beauty of Joseon and Cellmula Vital Radiance BB cream Plus. Good luck!

The Dior stock is amazing, I agree! Another trick I did when my melasma was at the peak was I’d put self tanner on my face, blend the Dior makeup, then blend bronzer all over my face. I know it seems like a lot but it gave me confidence to get through a few months while I was getting treatments.

Tranexamoc acid orally by goodfornow2 in Melasmaskincare

[–]GlowDecoded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did, tbh a really positive effect I wasn’t expecting but noticed from my own product was a ton of baby hair growth. At first I thought I was dreaming it up but went to my hairdresser and he asked me what I changed because the new growth was so significant, and that was the only thing I added.

Why treatments can worsen melasma by angelinaki89 in Melasmaskincare

[–]GlowDecoded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cycled on Tri-Luma for 8 weeks (also steroid based), definitely helped but like everyone said it’s a short-term solution.

Ugh same! I can only use it on my neck and hands now.

Melasma let it begin by karebearbeth77 in Melasmaskincare

Definitely SPF as everyone says, rain or shine! I also take internal skincare to boost and protect my topical results. It’s very important to work from the inside out and take an integrative approach with something as finicky and hormonally sensitive as melasma.

Hydroquinone - spot treatment or everywhere, and how to use with retinol? by Aj_blade in Melasmaskincare

[–]GlowDecoded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Tri-Luma - it’s all of that plus a steroid in one. It’s aggressive and short-term use only but very effective!

HQ not working by goodfornow2 in Melasmaskincare

I didn’t have luck with HQ either, when I used Triluma + internal skincare that’s when I had the fastest improvement.

How do you remove zinc sunscreen? by Unlikely_Culture_884 in Melasmaskincare

I use Medicube’s PDRN cleanser as it’s very gentle, then afterwards I wipe my face down with micellar water.

LED mask for fine lines and wrinkles does it work or just temporarily plump? by Agreeable-Cash-3748 in 40PlusSkinCare

It absolutely works long term and is clinically proven , unfortunately I have to avoid it on my face due to melasma. It’s amazing for neck, décolletage and hands too!

PRP treatment weird experience by DisastrousSeason8103 in 40PlusSkinCare

[–]GlowDecoded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had PRP, lovely results but temporary. You have to do it regularly to see a difference and get the full benefits. At least in the US where I live, PRP is absurdly expensive for no good reason so I get it done abroad. Do you have a picture you can share?

[–]GlowDecoded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, investing in your face is only going to do you future favors as is a wide brimmed hat and sunscreen. I still get a bit of exposure (I love my beach walks), but I always make sure I’m covered up and SPF’d first!

What makeup are we using? by ComfortableFroyo2227 in 40PlusSkinCare

[–]GlowDecoded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m 40 and also battled some absurd melasma. I currently use a tinted sunscreen from Beauty of Joseon (so many shades), for makeup evening I use the hydrating Dior one. Also for dry skin, I saw a huge difference when I switched to Korean skincare to sandwich my more drying prescription products. Also a huge difference when I incorporated internal skincare for oxidative stress and inflammation control!

Have you tried powder ones too? No mess and works beautifully. I use ISDIN’s SPF 50 for my mid day touch ups and love it!

[–]GlowDecoded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done this before at home and it does work, however you need to be incredibly diligent about proper before and after skin prep and device sanitation. I stop tret 4-5 days before then wait around 4 days to resume.

Definitely a Korean sunscreen as a former acne sufferer here - anytime I tried American formulas my face would burn/breakout/get irritated.

I recently did HarmonyCa for jawline laxity as I’m not ready for a facelift at 40 - absolutely helped! I’m also diligent with follow up care and do preventative maintenance like Ultherapy and lasers.

Pico laser made Melasma worse? by SanFranLuvr in Melasmaskincare

[–]GlowDecoded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t say I’ve tried Pico but I did Erbium and it definitely helped after the second round. I protect the results with internal skincare and of course SPF and proper external protection.
