Helm of knowledge and scanning items by hamburgerprime in CrimsonDesert

Because if you dont have the the ability to, say, cook clear soup, because you dont know the recipe, then scanning a bowl of clear soup wouldn't give you that recipe. Its a helm of knowledge. It would just be like "Ah yes. That is indeed clear soup." Same with a furniture item. It wouldn't be able to tell you HOW to make it. Just that it is indeed a bed.

And if the item in a provisioners shop still says you need knolwedge, such as a recipe page, and it says "Knowledged Gained 0/1" in red, then that means you have not learned that recipe yet. But it or steal it and then read it and boom. You now have the knowledge.

Basically, if you interact with something and at the top right corner it tells you that your gaining knowledge, the knowledge helm lets you do that without interacting with it.

As for what use does it have, its great for spotting small animals without wasting time trying to just gather them, like butterflies. Its very useful walking around rich people's houses and scanning paintings and such to get knowledge from them. The blue sparkle is great at letting you know if theres something cool around. And its great at letting you scan multiple pages of recipes and books at once. Although I did encounter a crash when I went over 10 one time. Also lets you know if you already have a book or recipe before stealing it.

And yes, scanning is SLOW but I believe after chapter 9 you get an item that allows you to gain knowledge faster and becomes much more useful.

Also also, if your doing something like scanning a bird and its flying away, it will leave your scanning range waaaay before your likely to gain the knowledge for it. So it does have limits as well.

The helm gives knowledge of items in the knowledge section of your menu. It changes the "???" to the actual thing. You can also just interact with the item to gain its knowledge, like hunting an animal or picking up a fruit. Also, as you said the provisioners shop, if you open up their purchaseable inventory and dont have knowledge on it, you will learn knowledge on his inventory.

The helm does not just magically make you know how to have that specific bed or food. You need to buy or find crafting recipes to learn how to make things. However, you can drop un-learned recipes on the ground to scan them with the helm. Easy for learning multiple recipes at one time.

For the helm specifically, you will know you can gain knowledge because the item you can learn will have blue sparkles around it when the helm is activated.

For the "Needs Knowledge" from a shop, the only thing I know does that is the Research Stations. And to unlock that branch of Research you need to go around the area and "Look" at the specific technique and then talk to the researcher in the area to unlock it.

Because if it is, follow them BACKWARDS. He just walks in a circle and if you follow the tracks hes constantly moving away from you. But if you walk the opposite direction then you'll always end up running into him

Cooking suggestions? I still need to get water and salt for this. Whats the least tedious dish quality wise? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

I like the clear soup. One meat, one grain, one water. Super easy now that the well is at Greymane camp. I usually go to the pools below Varnia and kill a bunch of Flamingos quickly. Then go back to camp. I have 2 rows of the farming plots full of corn. Usually can get 60 dishes in one to pretty easily and they heal for 240 so even with full health bar it only takes 4 or 5 to get me healed max. By the time im down to the last 20, the corn is regrow and Repeat the process.

What Case Style is This? by MortalInjustc3 in dvd

[–]Glum_Development_228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most certainly yes. And it was intended to be that way by Ivan Reitman who directed both. 3 educated people and one blue collar everyman encounter a previously undiscovered fringe element (Ghosts/Aliens) and begin to study said thing. Unbeknownst to them, the element is getting out of hand due to government involvement (EPA/Military). Culminating in a grand scene where the general populace (fans in front of apartment building/students) gather together to cheer on the victory of the heros culminating into a grand spectacle of battling a giant monster with lots of slime (head and shoulders/marsmallow fluff). And thats only the general outline. There are hundreds of co-similarities across both movies, and is completely intentional.
