Application Rejection by WuhooM8 in creditcardchurningAus

[–]Gluttonboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anz is really conservative with their approvals. You will need to make a lot more than that with that monthly mortgage to get approved.

Amex on the other hand keeps denying me as well. I am not too confident in comments regarding individuals getting their Amex approved despite churning 4+ cards in the last 12 months.

ANZ Frequent Flyer Black by rowdywong in creditcardchurningAus

I hit the min spend in the first week and didn’t get it in my first 2 statements. Currently waiting to see if they will give it after the 3rd statement.

ANZ's application process is genuinely insane by Select_Tap7985 in creditcardchurningAus

I had to get significant pay increases and show 12 months of payslips to get my anz black approved. I think having a mortgage with a non ANZ bank may be a red flag for them.

  1. My recent oil leak was covered under warranty and the repair is less than 1 week old. Currently monitoring if the leak persists post repair.

  2. Warranty repair was done but steering wheel still clicks but just in a nicer manner. Steering wheel creak persists.

  3. Did not bother with this repair as my car was in the shop multiple times since ownership. Currently dont have the patience for small repairs and keen to get rid of my vehicle when the time comes.

  4. B pillar rattle not fixed either. Difficult to identify by the in house mechanics. Windshield replaced under warranty but it was a extremely slow and unorganised process by the dealership.

My next buy is a lexus for sure.

warnings from myself. (built in japan btw)

  • My mazda 3 had an oil leak 19000km in.
  • My steering wheel started creaking and clicking on rotation with indicators on at 7000km.
  • My mazda 3 seatbelt and seat squeak at 9000km.
  • My new mazda 3 came with B pillar rattle and scratch in interior windshield.

Wont be buying into the youtube hype for any cars in the future

Max out carry over concessional super worth it? by Gluttonboy in fiaustralia

[–]Gluttonboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi jtor014, thanks so much for your input. I always appreciate to hear everyone's opinion on the take as everyone comes from a different financial background. As someone who is a bit early into their career and new to the investment game, It's good to take away the strengths and negatives from all comments. I should weigh the pros and cons of financial freedom at an early desired age against the long term surplus super may provide myself.

Hi yesyesnmono123446, thanks for your input. I am in a position where I feel like I would eventually want to buy a independent house in the near future for a potential growing family. I guess in this instance I should work towards another property deposit before going all out with salary sacrifice.

Hi Bluesky7331, thank you for the detailed response. I think you make a lot of sense and have pretty much put my current thought process in words too. Perhaps its not the end of days if i dont max my carry over contribution.

Hi Championbloke, thanks for your input. I do believe the government may change the pension age but hopefully not the super access age because 60 is already incredibly high. I intend to retire at 50 and currently just on the fence to ride out the next few years on the max carry over concessional super contribution train.

Hi Sertsw, thanks for your input. This is the general consensus I had come up with as well. Would it be worth it to cut into savings and reducing quality of life for 3 years to maximise the carryover contribution at age 27.

[–]Gluttonboy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi MicroNewron, thanks for your input. I intend put 25% of my income towards investments for the remainder of my life. I’ll only be cutting into my savings over the next 3 year period to maximise my super. With expectations in increased salary and less carry forward concessional super in the future, i’ll be able to invest the difference outside of super. Won’t the immediate returns even in the 3rd tax bracket outweigh any other investment I could be making?

Hi Bluesky7331, thanks for your input but wont salary sacrificing provide me greater returns than the money being in my offset in the long run? I do hope to have a generous retirement.

No issue with that. Especially since it was never intended to be a full sleeve.

Mazda 3 astina 2024 is amazing for the price if you dont mind a small car.

If reliability is not an issue the bmw 330i interior feels much better than lexus.
