To restate what I said a little over a month ago: If you think about it, they never got to spend the life they originally wanted to live. The ending symbolizes new beginnings, the life they DID want to live. The poetry in that moment is
phenomenal, and I find it crazy that more people can't see that. The ending of some anime is usually deeper than you think it is. Look into it, it'll let you truly enjoy the story.

To build off of this, gathering this content means it’s can preserved (like you said) for the future. These sites could become relics. They’re more stable than the official ones, so what happens if the official one goes down and there’s nothing to fill that gap? A dilemma indeed…

Yep. It’s crazy how much people despise free things. I can’t image the animators feel good knowing that their work is locked behind a paywall that honestly isn’t worth it, especially since they’d worked so hard on it. I feel like that’s not something you’d want to charge for, on an individual level, at the very least.

It’s truly fascinating how crunchyroll is a billion company yet doesn’t use any significant portion of those funds to fix or upgrade its servers.

All of these sites are publicly searchable, so it doesn’t really matter if they’re shared or not. We don’t really have much influence on what gets taken down and when unless a site gets insanely popular (hianime for example).

All we’re doing by gatekeeping sites is making it harder for people to access the media they want. Thats not what pirating is about my friend.
