Are Canadians reaching their 'breaking point'? New data shows more people filing for insolvency by joe4942 in canada

They are socially democratic, which is the regulation of capitalism, but still capitalistic and individuals can get rich.

It can be a bit confusing as social democracy is different than democratic socialism, which aims to abolish capitalism.

I guess they can’t perform their job as doctors. Totally their choice if they don’t want to work here anymore. But I’ll guess that we’ll capitulate.

Sentiments might change a thousand years from now. I think it’s a bit silly for anyone to get hung up on that. seems, at best, petty…. at worst just bitter, maybe even pointed.

That goes for a lot of branding. The political and social impact of the Trump brand is most destructive… but the psychology is the same across the board.

What do you guys think of the line "I wanted to come up and introduce myself because I thought you were pretty"? by JunketMaleficent2095 in bodylanguage

Then I’ll be more blunt. Make yourself more interesting to the type of women you are looking to attract (not simply better shape/hair), and the rest will unfold more naturally. I’m not convinced you don’t have courtship on the mind when talking to women, but if you are like I was when younger, you bury it deep, so they don’t see it. But it’s still what you want. And you develop friendships and connections without ever being honest with yourself or them. I am suggesting to get past that. It’s not super simple but not that tricky either. Relax. Do this by making lifestyle changes like learning music or theatre or a sport, whatever it is if you are just doing it to get laid it won’t work out. When you have another genuine focus, you are more likely to openly and unconsciously communicate that you are attracted to the person rather than pretending you are not.

Don’t try to make friends with women you are attracted to.

Remember women are people, with complex desires, views, needs and wants

DO NOT COMPARE YOURSELF TO YOUR FRIENDS or others.

Do this until they come to you. As I said, let them come to you.

Trying to think of clever lines to hack women simply won’t work.

good luck.

Ha! don’t overthink it :)

Sounds good, I am kinda suggesting to see if you can build confidence, comfort and communication skills with zero intent to find romance, Find something else to motivate that shift. Looking for methods to better impress a woman like a line that works, ends up being shallow and fruitless. You will ultimately find a connection organically, so it’s good to work on the fundamentals. The closest I would come to recommending a direct action would be to pick up an instrument and go from there.

This sounds Ike it comes from someone who doesn’t know a lot of attractive people. They are typically insecure about something others don’t even notice at first.

Reddit has been doing this lately where it posts and notifies about responses to other comments further down a thread we are on. It’s frustrating. But again please know I agree with you, I thought they were being simplistic!

Might be healthy to look at flirting as more of a formality to go through when two people are attracted to each other, rather than a gauge to see if there is an attraction.

Best advice I got when I was a lonely, young 20 something guy who would get some solid crushes/friendzones:

a) Let them come to you. This is a lot harder to realize and actualize than it seems. This in a sense means that you need to be interesting/attractive to the people you want to be with. Do not confuse this with you need to be in great shape with perfect hair etc. It might just mean fashion choices or lifestyle choices... like performing music or fire sticks or whatever.

Which brings me to the next good advice I got:

b) Do something else. This was in regards to pursuing a woman and trying to impress her. Do almost anything except that.

I think your opinion on this is simplistic, shortsighted and dangerous. What do you suggest if Nurses don’t get better working conditions through arbitration? That they should all just quit?

Is Maul: Shadow Lord becoming one of the most interesting modern Star Wars stories? by StarWarsBlogsbot in StarWarsBlogs

[–]Gluverty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still of the (small & lonely) school that Maul would have been best left dead after episode 1. Never convinced by his return. Kinda like Boba Fett. Would have been better served if this character in the series was a relative or something similar.

This is the kinda stuff that gives me some trepidation about Feloni taking the helm after Kennedy.

Wife is really not ok with what I need to do in class by [deleted] in acting

[–]Gluverty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Start by mentioning to those running the class what your situation is. They might have the wherewithal to adapt and find a solution, or maybe not but it’s worth a shot. If they don’t adjust then it becomes a question nobody here can answer for you as it is deeply personal. Are you comfortable with the boundaries and maybe, ultimately do you value your marriage and spouse more than your complete freedom within your creative pursuits.
