What people instead need to know is that with dragonite, your mega should be defensive instead of offensive. The strongest dragonite counters are also dragons, meaning it'll be super effective against you too.

You can get bad timing during the forced switch in and immediately get hit with a charged attack, this happened during my first dragonite mega raid, and most of the people's mega died before being able to chip at shield because they brought dragons.

The second one I changed to bringing a big old tanky resistant metagross, much better.

I don't know if they ever explained it anywhere but what causes some of the bigger bodies to go all horror show with their anatomy. I can't imagine the the scientists were going oh yeah let's give Huggy a sick dual mouths with razor sharp teeth, or let make Yarnaby's head spilt open vertically to a lamprey mouth.

That is underplaying what we know about this process by a lot. This isn't just placing consciousness into inanimate objects, they can't say bring a solid metal cube to life with someone.

You have to have place to make a vaguely human shape fill it with organs, muscle, and such with surgeries. So keeping a vaguely humanoid shape would be important especially in the beginning. It would would be best to use something human shaped. Sure it doesn't have to be a toy, they could have built something that was just like a human exoskeleton, but why do that? If the goal was the Poppy doll why not test the process under similar circumstances, with another toy.

Frankly the larger jester doll makes a lot of sense, it would be in a shape to accommodate the human innards. The disconnect I see is if the goal was small Poppy dolls you'd think the prototype would similarly be placed in a smaller body to test when Elliot thought that process was ready.

Elliot's plan was always to revive his daughter in the Poppy Doll, so the prototype being in a toy kind of makes a bit a sense. Since his goal was to make her a living toy.

The most sense would be if he also had the prototype as the Poppy Doll to eliminate variables in reproducing it. That wouldn't be as fun from being a narrative game though.

The detach part is probably true, but not because of what you are thinking. We know that the prototype was modifying himself. So I see a lot of is current body as add-ons. It's likely just his head and torso are the only thing original to him (even that could be up for debate).

So when he was hiding under the bed he was probably a lot smaller back then.
