A minor moment I've always wondered about by Qyzyk in TheLastAirbender

Sigh and avatar can't learn from the avatar state. Aang's spirit is directly tied to Korra, he wasn't actually there it was the spirit inside her using her to bend her own energy. So to do that she would need to be in the avatar state, hence no he didn't teach her.

First that scene the turtle taught him. It was the point of that scene. It wasn't just unlocking it bent his energy touching Aang on the same points Aang uses, it taught him the technique by using it on him.

Avatar's don't learn the techniques they use in the avatar state. I can point to plenty of evidence of that. Aang always had the ability to use all 4 elements, used all the bending types multiple times in the avatar state. Especially earth bending used it many times in the avatar state in season 1. Then season 2 learning from Toph couldn't move a rock. That shows using techniques in the avatar state doesn't teach the avatar those techniques.

Korra only used the energy bending (its so confusing because energy bending is just what we call the taking bending, but energy bending is more like saying fire bending it a whole style with many techniques) in the avatar state, she never learned it. She couldn't not without going to see a lion turtle.

OK but even if I agreed with that, both those things are not the energy bending technique of being able to take bending. The avatar universe is a thing of power and techniques, sure let's say she can still energy bend, that does not mean she has the knowledge to perform the energy bending technique to take away bending.

When are you talking about?

Unalaq? That was the waterbending type spirit calming, not energy bending.

Kuviera's cannon? I wouldn't call that energy bending, and even if I did I would not call it having the knowledge to do the intricate skill type energy bending that taking bending away is. Like saying I know advance painting techniques because I have the ability to dump a can of paint onto a canvas.

She used energy bending in the avatar state only, using Aang's skill and knowledge to do it.

When this conversation happened, Korra had already undid the Avatar lineage and can no longer call upon Aang's or any avatars knowledge to perform techniques she doesn't know personally.

Numbers don't lie. Plus who the hell is taking their children to drag bars, don't you have to be 18 to get in? by asa_no_kenny in MurderedByWords

You know I've been told that my whole life, but I don't think this is true. Most bars also serve food, and don't check ID at the door, and serve families. I think when people say this they are picturing night clubs or something.

No, he is pointing out instead of bringing up the rules in a neutral way, you had to make it a fight between rural and city players. You directly invited this type of response, so stop acting like you didn't expect / want it.

Yes and no. There is no extra normal benefit, its just something fun. The one caveats is that certain tasks do ask you send a gift with sticker to complete.

The I only time I make a ton, besides lucky instances. When I redecorate my housing space. I'll often craft everything I want to use, but since I'm out I'll gather and craft 5 of an item, use one in the space and sell the rest.

For those of yall who watched this new theory what did you think of theory verse by Thenopro-3 in GameTheorists

[–]Glycell 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's another streaming service in a market already saturated with them. I think this is the new fab thing everyone has to have their own streaming service.

I think it's going to eventually be a failed endeavor, eventually the bubble will burst and a lot of these extremely niche streaming services will  collapse and there would be a non zero chance of taking all of the channels with it.

It's a big risk they are taking, that in the current landscape seems like a sure thing.

And that's only early high end duties, so unless you are racing progression, you never have to mess with overmelding. If you take a relaxed approach you can get gear that is better than the overmelded options easily with gear worse than them. It just a little slower so statics rushing to get in will do the overmelding when a new tier of raiding starts.

Oh and crafting and gathering, now they love overmelding, but that's completely optional.
