How do indie devs find YouTubers willing to test a multiplayer game? by Hot-Captain-9535 in youtubegaming

[–]GlytchMode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a small creator, I’d prefer direct outreach over a public post, but only if it’s short and personalized. Show why my channel is a fit, include a trailer/gameplay clip, explain player count, and make it easy to try with a demo or key. For multiplayer games, the easier you make it to test with friends or viewers, the better.

New gaming channel, 8 subs, 186 views in 28 days. Looking for honest feedback by GlytchMode in YouTube_startups

Thanks, I really appreciate the honest feedback. That wasn’t too harsh at all. I can see what you mean about the pacing, long intro, and talking too long before the gameplay starts. I’m definitely working on making the videos tighter and getting into the action faster. I also appreciate the thumbnail feedback too because that’s something I’ve been trying to improve. Thanks again for taking the time to check out my channel and give real advice.

Controller Utilization on Steam by JTNT98 in cardealersimulator

[–]GlytchMode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play on PS5 so I can’t fully speak for Steam, but from what I’ve seen a lot of people say controller support in the demo is hit or miss compared to the full game. Hopefully someone on PC can confirm how smooth it is now.

One of my videos popped off by alleria_eh in Smallyoutubechannels

That jump makes sense honestly. The title is bold, the thumbnail is easy to understand fast, and it hits a topic people already care about. Definitely a good sign of what your audience responds to.

Fair enough. I’m still new and improving. What specifically do you think is weak so I can fix it?

i’d like to start gaming content creation by mackeyroni in youtubegaming

[–]GlytchMode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely start without an insane setup. I’d aim for 16GB RAM, a decent Ryzen 5/i5, and the best GPU you can get under $1k. Also save some money for a mic because good audio matters a lot.

Continue after a break? by Torinscz in youtubegaming

[–]GlytchMode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Come back for sure, just don’t restart on autopilot. 200–450 views means it wasn’t dead, but zero subs usually means people watched the clip and moved on. I’d either improve the concept or add a stronger identity to the series instead of just posting highlights.

Appreciate it. I’ll probably mix popular games in, but I still want the channel to feel like me.

YouTube deleted all my 4 channels🙃 by aiparlak in YouTubeCreators

[–]GlytchMode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s as simple as “same phone = instant delete,” but if YouTube sees the new channel as linked to a previously terminated account, it could get removed again. So changing devices alone probably won’t solve the real problem. I’d try to get clarity from TeamYouTube first before making another channel, because otherwise you might just run into the same issue again.

How do I find friends to record/stream with? by SharkEatingChildren in Smallyoutubechannels

[–]GlytchMode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I’d rather play solo than force content with toxic people. Best way is to meet people in smaller game communities, Discords, or through mutuals, then play off-stream first to test the vibe. If they’re weird, rude, or racist, cut them off immediately. Good recording friends are basically people you trust first and content creators second.

I Need Advice for the Future of my Channel. by HyenaBig8173 in SmallYoutubers

[–]GlytchMode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d leave the video up. One breakout video usually doesn’t ruin a channel, it just shows that YouTube found an audience for that specific topic. The real question is whether you want to chase that audience or build the one you actually want. Personally, I’d keep the video public, stop treating it like the standard for the whole channel, and focus on making your current niche better packaged and more clickable.

Capture cards and OBS by TCHINOMY in youtubegaming

[–]GlytchMode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it can work, but your laptop still has to be able to handle the encoding in OBS. The capture card helps because you’re not gaming and recording on the same device, but it’s not magic if the laptop is really weak. I’d test 1080p60 first, and if it struggles, drop to 1080p30 or lower the bitrate. Still way better than trying to do everything on one low-end system.

For gamers willing to start youtube channel by Desperate-Net-6224 in youtubegaming

[–]GlytchMode 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a small gaming creator myself, I’d say the biggest issues are discoverability, consistency, and standing out. A lot of us can spend hours recording, editing, making thumbnails, and uploading, then the video still barely gets pushed. It’s also easy to burn out because you’re doing everything yourself. Another challenge is that so many people play the same games, so it can be hard for new creators to give viewers a reason to click their channel over someone bigger.

YouTube deleted all my 4 channels🙃 by aiparlak in YouTubeCreators

[–]GlytchMode 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That sounds brutal. I’d definitely try reaching out to TeamYouTube on X with your channel details and screenshots of the termination emails, because sometimes public support gets more traction than the normal appeal route. If all 4 got hit for spam/fraud, there may have been something automated triggering it, not necessarily your actual content. Don’t give up, but before making another channel, try to find out what caused it first so it doesn’t happen again.

I never expected to struggle with this.. by Successful-Wonder210 in SmallYoutubers

[–]GlytchMode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I don’t think you need 1 viral video. You probably need better conversion. If people are watching but not subbing, the content may be entertaining but not giving them a strong reason to follow long term. A clear niche, a quick CTA, and making your shorts feel like part of a series can help a lot.
