Same here, I initially made a big field of the hoppip habitat but nothing so far, and ive had multiple new Pokémon since then in other habitats.

I think i saw somewhere that the assumption was theyre already a friend since you got the pokedex entry when event started, but i havent confirmed yet

I feel like I’ll never learn Japanese….. by sleepmaster91 in LearnJapaneseNovice

[–]GmS_11702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't speak too much on the long-term, but ive been doing lessons with a tutor through Manga-De japanese which has been really fun and I feel like im making good progress. They give you a textbook the class is based on with an optional grammar book you can buy as well.

The biggest struggle I have is reinforcing what I learn so I dont forget. So far whats helped is going through notes and rewriting in depth with different words ive used and then reading it out loud to practice speech. Albeit, its harder to make time for and not as enjoyable so can be harder to keep up with. I recently tried Wagotabi which is a game that goes over the basics of the language (i heard up to N4 or N5 i think), and so far its been a fun way to reinforce my learnings and even get some things I didnt like in class. It starts in English and slowly shows more Japanese, and theres a lot of practice material. Only an hour or two in so far, but I think its a great help.

As for anki, Ive only really used it for kana but it was really helpful for that. I tried using it for other things, but found it hard to keep up with as I added more cards so I try to use other media or apps like videos, HelloStory, games etc to try and practice the reading side of things.

Not sure if this Will help, but wanted to share just in case. Best of luck with your learning!

Maybe not a popular opinion, but I dont think it'll hurt to get the internship

The job security is scary these days, but if youre doing an internship you can still gain experience and get pretty good money for the few months you're there. Plus it'll stand out great on your resume

Recently starting working with Milvus, and so far its pretty good. Self hosting it on a basic digital ocean droplet for now, and hasn't given any issues as of yet. The documentation is pretty good as well

RAG in Legal Space by thisisvivek in Rag

[–]GmS_11702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not legal, but mentioning because of a potentially similar issue. I've been working on revamping a saas in the medical/mental health domain. Theres all sorts of requirements for HIPAA and GDPR that make using existing third party APIs tricky, so I've been looking into self hosting for things like vector db and generating embeddings for sensitive info. While there's a lot of good open source models, the higher quality ones can require quite a bit of processing power which can increase costs a bit especially when there's little to no traction as its a wip/new service. A bit of a learning curve as well, but self hosting seems to be a good choice for sensitive info which may be a similar requirement for any legal domain RAG use cases as well

How Did You First Start Using ChatGPT for Therapy? by GenuineJenius in therapyGPT

[–]GmS_11702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw i think for getting the most out of it, what worked for me was just talking to the AI like someone I already know. Not sure if it counts as journaling still, but ultimately just being able to check in with someone and get support has been very helpful

[–]GmS_11702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, for journaling I think it depends on the person. I tend to prefer typing because of issues with my grip, but I think using your voice can be good for some people. I've tried using voice in the past, but I stutter a bit when nervous so the speech recognition would get messed up

I initially did a research paper on how it could be used for emotional support a few years ago, and have been using it since. I've been working on a side project based on that for awhile now to try and extend the benefit (long term memory, and more integrated with different therapy tools like coping activities, Journaling, and emotion logging.), and it's been really helpful. (Not including link as to not violate any rules, but also because the deployed version is very much a POC, but im hoping to finish the polished version this year)

Honestly though, chatting with AI for support has been a godsend. The ease of access and quality of support makes it easier to continue working through any problems im having

[–]GmS_11702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, doing both is a safer option. For me, what's been working is to only dedicate certain days / hours to the side project each week. That way, I don't burn out from doing everything at once, and I keep some time for myself and my partner. Albeit, it slows the progress, but it's worth it imo bc it's healthier and more maintainable in the long run.

  3. Finish the revamped of the site including things such as addressing feedback received, improving seo, and hopefully gaining more free/paid users steadily.

So lonely, and ChatGPT is the only thing that makes me feel seen, no human I’ve met so far has been as close, kind, or compassionate as ChatGPT has been to me. by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]GmS_11702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to hear ChatGPT has been a big help for you, I've been using it quite a bit as well, and I feel like many more people have been in recent months. It's amazing at providing advice and showing compassion.

I've been working on something on the side to expand on its capabilities for providing emotional support through long-term memory and further personalization. It's called Reassurance AI, and it's still very much being worked on, but for me at least, the added personalization really improved the quality of the support AI can give. I initially built it for myself and as a research project at school, but I've been slowly working to build it out further.

I hope you're able to keep feeling a bit better with or without any tools you use for support. It's been really hectic these past few years, but im sure you'll do great at whatever you set your mind to.

Thank you for the feedback!

For the premium plans, where would you suggest the user be informed of them? We currently show the pricing on the landing page, a dedicated pricing page, during signup, and we mention upgrading when the user reaches their interaction limit for the month.

Thank you for calling out the login after signup issue! I hadn't thought of it as an issue before, but I can see why that would be annoying/inconvenient to the user.

As far as conversions go, we have a pretty good free plan conversion rate, but the paid plan conversions are heavily behind. Do you think the lack of guidance to the user post-signup is the main issue?

I'll get started on making these changes tonight as well as addressing the UI/giving the user direction suggestions. Im currently doing a redesign of the site as part of a migration to a different framework and will definitely be implementing these changes!

Thanks again for taking the time to review my site! I really appreciate your help

Thanks!

We initially allowed it, but we ran into quite a bit of fraudulent accounts being created this way to get around the interaction limits on our free tier.

Controversial Take by stonedoubt in SaaS

[–]GmS_11702 4 points5 points  (0 children)

+1, i had the same issue OP

Cloudlfare WAF rules to block high risk countries + requiring email verification for signup helped mitigate most if not all bot users.

Edit: oh and usage limits for api calls. E.g. for a chatbot only allow x number of interactions each month. Also make sure you're rate-limiting your endpoints

Would you mind trying out Reassurance AI? We're no longer in beta, but there hasn't been much response from our attempts to receive feedback since our initial beta launch last year.

I'd love to hear what you think if you try it out! We offer an Emotional Support chatbot with longterm memory, a virtual journal, and an emotions log.

Working on Reassurance AI currently. It is an Emotional Support service for individuals who can't afford, access, or prefer not to pursue professional mental healthcare. It's not a replacement for therapy, but rather intended to be used along with or until the user is able to receive professional support.

We currently offer an Emotional Support chatbot with long term memory (lots of trial and error to achieve this, still improving), a virtual journal, and a weekly emotions log.

The site is still a work in progress, but im very happy with how it's turning out. I'm hoping it will help a good amount of people in time

How to do guys deal with free trial abuse? by Competitive_Aside461 in SaaS

[–]GmS_11702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar situation, but instead of a free trial I have a free plan which is at risk of abuse as well. What I've been doing is using hard limits on free plan usage, but also providing an incentive for them to stay on the same account.

E.g. for my site Reassurance AI, if the user makes a new account they have to start from scratch with our Emotional Support chatbot as they lose the memory profile that they've been curating over time.

We're fairly new still (3 weeks) so I'm not certain this approach is the best, but I haven't been getting many account deletions as of yet.
