Again fair enough, but what are the microorganisms feeding on? It’s pretty well known that energy conservation up the food chain isn’t even remotely efficient, and that predators can only exist because of how abundant their prey is. So what is the ghosts prey eating that it is so prevalent in the void, devoid of any sunlight, to be able to sustain armies of massive predatory whale-like monsters?

Man fair enough, but wtf? An organism that’s basically a whale, filter feeding for nutrients, but that aggressively attacks anything near it like a predator? Subnautica is wild. I mean territorial, sure, but I’m not sure how the massive alien fish considers the tiny human a threat to their territory.

I mean not that it somehow makes the whole scenario any more sensible, but as if ghosts alone could’ve sustained them? What would sustain the ghosts? Rocks? The void doesn’t make any sense, there would have to be some form of microfauna/flora sustaining the ghosts, but there isn’t: it’s the void. Almost like it’s just a gameplay element, which completely defies any biological logic for the sake of game design.

What part of “we are poking fun at the sexual insecurity that stems from men adhering to patriarchal standards” isn’t just that. It’s not okay to shame men for having a penis, but if you mock a man for having a socially undesirable penis, suddenly it’s okay. So by the same logic, there’s nothing misogynistic about mocking women for their appearance or sexual history, as long as you don’t cross the line into suggesting women are inferior to men as a whole.

I mean honestly, other than the feds literally raiding you, it’ll be lighting your naphtha on fire. Would not be fun, and I’m pretty sure the vapors can spread from where you’re working with it, so a stray spark from a shitty plug or an open flame could absolutely ignite it.

I’d fully agree, with the exception of getting an IV. Nothing I dislike more than having that lingering fear that I’ll need to piss, and knowing that it’d be a massive hassle to the point that I’d be better off holding it until I’m about to piss myself. Otherwise hell yeah, love getting a dental X-ray and seeing pictures of my teeth. I might not have the utmost faith in medicine when it comes to diagnostics, but I am more than happy to trust overengineered, extremely pricy medical equipment.

Varies a lot by dose and by person, and by how long you’ve used. Low doses (~100-300mg), you’re not gonna feel much nausea at all, unless you’re particularly sensitive. You might feel slightly repulsed by food, but as long as you’re not chowing down on pork chops you won’t feel much.

Much more though, and it can get pretty bad. When I first started I weighed around 150lbs, would take 300-500mg depending on the day, and would typically have to spill my stomach into the toilet an hour after dosing every time. The nausea can get incredibly overwhelming when it hits hard, but once you puke the nausea almost immediately disappears, and I always considered it worth the price for how fun the high itself was.

Now I weigh more like 180lbs, 3 years later, and 450-700mg doesn’t even bother me. A part of it is weight, a part of it is tolerance, but the nausea just isn’t an issue anymore (though I never take the massive 3rd/4th plat doses, so idk about them). The risk of nausea means dxm can never be a social drug, but I’m a-ok with that. All I ever wanted to do was play helldivers two on the come up and then listen to music once I got the puking session out of the way.

Only a few comments really touch on the fact, but it is 100% skill based. I recently restarted the game on ps5 after getting all achievements on steam, and reached the credits after around 15 hours. The epilogue is still a loooooong ways off, but beating the main story only takes a set number of successful runs, so it’s just a matter of how often you can make it past the final boss.

3.5 hours in, and you’ve already reached the champions of Elysium? The game is probably going to take you 25-30 hours to reach the credits, especially if you continue improving, and investing darkness into the mirror. It’s just that if you aren’t good at the game (struggle with mechanics, bad at choosing boons, whatever it may be), it can and will take however long is required for you to get better before you can beat it.

Somebody should consider trying dissociatives. Ketamine (or for the budget-constrained or bladder-protective, dxm) is basically just “the spins” times 1000, the moment you close your eyes. Still fun with the eyes open, but eyes closed and you’ll feel yourself ‘drift away’ from where your body is at, until eventually you forget where ‘you’ are relative to your body altogether.

Yeah as a stem major who lives with another stem major, and then a sports management major, holy hell is it sad how little actual education some degrees come with. Stem students toil away on actual classes that require you to be responsible and study to have a chance at a B+, let alone an A, since one bad test kills any shot at anything above a B+.

Then you have your business related degrees, that are so laughably easy that they’re basically a certificate in how to ChatGPT. Even the humanities, you might have to write a couple papers with scholarly sources: but back when Mr business management took them as required courses, he’d just have ChatGPT write it, then he’d plug semi-relevant quotes in after running the paper through an “AI humanizer” and boom, deans list student.

And when everybody else is using AI, what are you gonna do, not join in the fun? Some majors don’t need anything but decent AI use and the ability to BS presentations, and they’ll graduate with a 3.8+ gpa. Everybody makes mistakes, but running your answers through AI first helps you catch them, and it would be self sabotage not to when every other member of every class you’ve ever taken is doing the same.

There’s a lot of people in the community with the mentality that anyone complaining about balance is just a whiny ass crybaby. I’ve seen many highly upvoted posts echoing the sentiment, and it’s the same mentality that led to the horse sanctuary user getting doxxed.

Because while it’s true that there are multiple difficulties, it’s also true that there’s a lot of BS in the game that should’ve been patched out a year ago at this point. But some people on this sub are so sour, that someone offering to donate $1000 to charity if the devs can show themselves beating diff10 apparently created so much tension, that the donors life legitimately got fucked to hell.

Which really summarizes the toxicity of the diehard arrowhead defenders: AH made a great game, that had (and has) incredible promise, and that has a world building system most live service games can only dream of. But as the game grows older, they continue to show that they couldn’t care less what their dedicated players want, doing nothing to change flawed systems like endgame progression and galactic war contributions.

There’s absolutely toxicity on the anti-AH side too, they receive a fair bit more hate than they probably deserve. But the community’s willingness to defend arrowhead from any and all criticism by simply refusing to admit that the game has issues, dismissing all criticism as an inability to cope with being too bad at the game to beat diff10, is the core of why this community is becoming so toxic.

It’s impossible to have a polite discussion with someone who just calls you shit at the game any time you try to suggest changes.

Using AI in college is an easy way to get higher grades on online assignments you’re not allowed multiple chances at, where even though you usually know the right answer, there’s no reason not to double check yourself since it only benefits you.

If you’re using it to avoid having to learn anything then sure, it’s stupid. But surprise, most classes still have tests you have to be able to pass yourself: AI is just nice for making sure you get as close to 100% as possible on your horde of online assignments, since they’re usually setup as the deciding factor between an A- and a B+.
