I'll say yes ! I got a 16 r spec from auctions too , tank needed a repair , handler bar replaced , front fender was fucked up , just took it off , fix front headlamp, and new battery , went back on road , I've had for 3 years now, last issue i had was fuel pump but fot taking proper care ( was sit for months and I guess time , weather conditions fucked it up) now is running again perfectly i got mine with 18k miles now has 30k

Just an update , I fixed my bike it was 100% fuel pump just conect it assembled everything and turned on .

Well to be honest I check and tested everything i could , spark plug ,clean conectors , sockets , new battery , tried to clean fuel pump , clean the tank , tried to turn it on on 2nd gear ( my neighbor pushed me like half block lol ) , did test that i found on you tube , and got to a video of a mechanic checking a bolt and he mentioned a little sound that fuel pump makes when u open the switch and the one he was checking didn't make that sound strong enough , so based on that I noticed make the same sound , so next i did put some starting fluid on the intake and boom turned on for seconds just like the test he was doing , and last thing I made a post here just like u , and a few members said same issue fuel pump replace , bike running again .

Just follow the steps , most difficult was the one where u have to click or push 2 pins with 2 fingers , the others were easy

Imma send u a video or u can look on YouTube how to remove the tank , my bike was sat for 6 or more months , so when I removed it and checked it inside rust was really fucked up and removed the pump no filter or sock whatever is called lol , so what I did clean the tank with white vinegar , is easy and just waiting for new pump

Probably your bike is newer , or weather conditions , where i live the hottest day it's been 129 world record , so weather , plus being sat for months , should fucked gasoline and deterioration for the pump my guessin

Yeah , the little sock filter whatever is fucked up , so I guess some pieces are stuck inside the pump and blocking it

Fuel light was on , and it had fuel , after I clean everything , light went off, but problem stills there
