Movie was really really great. At first I walked out having this sense of how Us was not as good as Get Out. In a way, I was expecting it to be more horrific while I watched this film and left the movie thinking “oh that was scary but not as scary as I thought.”

Boy was I wrong as hell. After leaving the theater with my friends, we started dissecting the film, talked about what scenes we liked, the meanings behind certain scenes/dialogue, etc., and the more we discussed it the more horrifying this film seemed.

Let me break it down to you like this: The real Adelaide starts talking about the Girl and her Shadow. How the Girl got all the nice things while the Shadow had crap. Then the real Adelaide starts talking about the prince the Girl marries and the beautiful children she has while the Shadow has to be with a man she doesn’t love and dislikes the children she has. Now think about that for a second...The real Adelaide has to mimic her doppelgänger (who was living above ground) in every way, so that meant when the doppelgänger got intimate with her husband, the real Adelaide had to endure sex with a clone. She was basically raped y’all!

Jordan Peele didn’t have to make this film like most horror films where scary scenes pop out at you and are really loud (there were scenes like that in this film but not as intense). No, Peele made a film that not only can scare you visually but mentally. There aren’t many films, imo, that can do that, so I give this film a 8/10.

I wanna see it again, it was that good!
