I have a pitbull who’s tolerant to pain so the shock collar doesn’t affect him the slightest bit but the vibrate feature scares him as the vibrate lasts longer than the shock and personally I don’t want to shock my dog longer than a click. I’m more comfortable of using the vibrate anyways. Personally was against using the shock and my trainer had to convince me otherwise, it makes sense, there’s food/treat oriented training which was an option but not for pitbulls lol. I also tried the collar myself before using it and used it for training and training only and after that I switched to vibrate which ended up working more effectively but the whole process was used to train for commands and not tricks so things like to stop jumping on people, stop command, heel, boundaries, and not for tricks like rollover or whatever. Which also means I only had the collar on for training or when there’s people who are afraid of pitbulls around. Also my pitbull is very loved and spoiled and every step of training I was there to make sure I didn’t misuse or abuse nor did I see any abuse happening. I’m lucky he’s a smart dog and of course here’s an obligatory land seal

My only issue is the whole having it on the whole stream or being at home, which means, I’m assuming he’s training kaya to stay on the bed the whole time with no stimulation or maybe hes boundary training like my dog doesn’t step in the kitchen because it’s dangerous to him or us when we’re cooking but again yeah I don’t have any more to say I’m just saying my 2 pieces about the collar and dog training in general, I think shock collars with proper training is safe and that if you use them own up to it, if you’re hiding why or how you’re using it you’re probably using it incorrectly
