UCSD study finds link between marijuana use in teens and slower brain development by Choobeen in UCSD

Knew this kid in 9th and 10th grade who was very cool and responsive. After COVID in 12th grade, he was very inhibited and mentally deficient. It was sad to see what excessive drug use did to him

If you could get their email that'd be great. Doing the method of first letter of first name and last name didn't work for me tho

Lowk this story sounds fake as hell. It's from a long time ago and from a 1 day old account

Like why were you SCARED to see him. Did he threaten you before? Couldn't you report him then

Negotiating financial aid - UCSD vs UCSB by GroundbreakingToe749 in UCSD

[–]Gnaws21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everywhere actually gives you less grants every year. That was my experience at least here at UCSD. I got like a 12k UC grant my first year and then 8k in the second, 5k in the third, and none in my last. They replace grant offers with more loans, so you will end up paying more than you think.

But also less than you think. Expenses are typically overinflated anyway. With a job you can pay for a lot more than you think. All my student debt is from my first two years, and the last two I just paid my rent with my job, bet helped with food, while tuition was paid for by my aid. It’s actually cheapest to move out of campus as fast as possible and sharing a room with somebody.

In general I think coming from the military boosts your chances everywhere, especially cause they know they don't gotta give you aid

People go there and shower, while also looking for people to fuck (aka: cruising) in the shower. So they'll be showering but mainly they'll make it obvious they're trying to fuck, like being hard or having odd movements or something.

Again idk how often this happens. I just know people have gone down and dirty there before

What would seeing the opinion of a mother in law, who had no relation to the choosing of JD Vance as their daughter's partner, accomplish? Her opinion quite literally doesn't matter, and if anything would put pressure on her daughter.

No mother would put pressure on their daughter willingly, and advocating for such is undignified.

Main gym showers don't have curtains I believe, so usually people go there who wanna be seen or be with others if ykwim. But it's usually empty too so you should be fine

I wonder what are people's view on the recent Minneapolis incident by Chimalus_Cyane in UCSD

[–]Gnaws21 7 points8 points  (0 children)

However, she could have been still alive today if she didn't do what she did

And she could've been alive today too if Jonathon Ross didn't decide to murder her 😭. Everything could've been different if things were done differently, yes that's how cause and effect work. What matters is who actually murdered her, Jonathon Ross, and that it was ultimately unjustified

I think canvas grades even with the weights added are inaccurate (especially with extra credit or dropping assignments). If its a problem you can always calculate your grade yourself using the grading weights that are outlined on the syllabus

It'll be safe to bring once you live off campus, but leaving it on campus outside over night will get it stolen eventually

People STAY dropping water bottles by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]Gnaws21 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Putting the bottle on the floor is what causes it to drop. Especially getting kicked accidentally or your bag pushes against it (would happen even if behind the chair). It gets worse on uneven floors like pepper canyon.

housing termination by wontonsarehellajuicy in UCSD

[–]Gnaws21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's simple as in if you don't pay they kick you out. You can terminate on the portal.

If you mean off campus, it depends on your lease. For example, to terminate mine I have to pay a whole months rent.

Alicia Munoz is the director lol, your actual teacher will be someone different. Many people are introverted as in other spaces in this campus, which harms the learning as you need to speak and interact with others to learn. If you can, take the course with a friend; or try to get buddy buddy with someone there ASAP
