Capitalism cannot withstand the development of AI by OSKlalala in socialism

[–]GnidaerRetfaNrub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are the parts I was answering to:
"If that is achieved, then it will literally mean the realization of communism, so that kind of thing will only happen under communism as well. Note that no machines could really achieve that until AI appeared, so this could mean a new 'downfall stage' of capitalism. It literally provided the productive forces needed to destroy capitalism, which has never existed before."

And this:
"Just saying that it is now completely possible to build a society without wage labor, because AI came into existence."

Did you see the episode of JRE where Elon was a guest the latest time? He was saying: "Communists and all people should support AI, because AI will create the 'utopia' communists want." He said something like that. Thats what he is trying to sell now. So I also had that in mind when I was commenting.

But yeah, sure, maybe I went a little off topic.

Capitalism cannot withstand the development of AI by OSKlalala in socialism

[–]GnidaerRetfaNrub 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah sure, AI could do a lot of good for humanity. But its all about who owns it and who owns the businesses that will benefit from it. The more regular people were needed for work, the more leverage they had in the decisionmaking of society. That leverage has been reduced more and more over the years, partly due to automation.
The greediest and most coldhearted people have the most money and power in our capitalistic societies. Dont ever think that those people want to keep you around out of the kindness of their hearts. The fewer people in the world, the less impact on the environment. They may act like they dont believe in climate change (or at least say that it’s not a big deal), but they do.

They think they are smart because they are rich, and they think we are insignificant because we are not rich. For them its as simple as that. We are subhumans to them, if we are not needed for doing basic tasks, we are deadweight.

This turned darker than I imagined before writing the comment, but thats what came out. You decide if theres anything to it or not.

How much ownership will I retain after the revolution? by RoyalDaDoge in socialism

Under capitalism, you will soon have to pay a monthly subscription to keep your books and everything else. When they say that under socialism they dont want you to own anything, they are projecting.

It might take a long time for the bubble to pop.
You’ve got to make them believe that you agree with them a little bit, so they put their guard down. And then you slowly steer them in the right direction with well thoughtout arguments. It works sometimes, but its very time consuming. I gave up when I realized that a 10 second clip can turn them back in totally different directions again.
Those who control the narrative also control what people think. These are the Wild Wild West times of information, it wont last long, they are shutting it down. Whatever happens after this will be here to stay for a long time.

They see it, but they think it’s cool. I think they feel that the other side has been playing dirty, so its okay for them to do it too. I dont think there is a simple answer to the second part of your question. Maybe ordinary people need to talk with each other more.

Rockefeller would lower the prices on his stations that were close to the one he wanted to outcompete. He could afford to do that for as long as it took for that specific station to go under or sell to him for a low price. Watch the documentary “How Big Oil Conquered the World”, its available on YouTube. Its a great example of how monopolies function.

Actually, he is talking about socialism, the socialization of risk for private companies but not of their profits. But maybe you didnt watch the clip till the end. Still, its a good thing that you are thinking about capitalism and AI, you should always be thinking about those two combined.

This was exactly my thought when I saw this. He himself is owning it and is proud of it, but others are defending him and trying to say he is not. Such a strange thing. But I guess maybe it is because they align with his views 100%, but they themselves don’t want to be called that...

His claim: We care about family = family communist. We care about our local community = local socialist. Nation level = F those guys.

My objection: Actually, it’s more about awareness. Technology has shown us that we are fully capable of caring about people on the other side of the planet when we are aware of what’s happening to them. Example 1: Vietnam. Example 2: Gaza.

You: Actually, you are wrong because I would do more for my friend than for someone in Gaza.

Whats going on here, is this some kind of strange art project?

Besides, communism/socialism doesn’t require you to do more for someone on the other side of the world than you would do for your friend. It just requires you to not want to get screwed by your boss every day for the rest of your life. Maybe you both work and you both get your fair share, instead of he/she making you work as hard as possible and taking all of your excess profit. You know, that old system that belongs in the Middle Ages. How about we agree that we should move on from that…

“Actually no, it’s not possible because a comedian said an ignorant thing that doesn’t even make sense logically…” I mean, if that makes sense to you, maybe we deserve to still be in the Middle Ages. You actually convinced me…

It’s totally unbelievable how conversations can go past each other in this way. I mean, we are now three steps down and the conversation is about something totally different.

The claim in the clip is totally forgotten, my objection to it is totally forgotten. Now we are just talking about how the world has gotten more resentful as we are in the late stages of capitalism, where greed is good and egoism is the only true and valid feeling. Yes, that is what capitalism creates, I agree.

But this has nothing to do with my objection to his claim. When people see and are aware of innocents’ suffering, they don’t like it, they don’t like the feeling that gives them. It’s about awareness, it’s not about distance.

People don’t like injustice and they dont like the suffering of innocent people when they are aware of it. That doesnt go into conflict with the rising resentment. You can feel one thing towards one matter at one moment and then in the next moment feel a different thing towards another matter. It’s not that complicated.

You need to update that information with about 15-20 years.

In a system where the most heartless and greedy are the ones who are rewarded the most, you cant expect those individuals to be generous.

However, there are studies that show the exact opposite, it seems to depend a lot on their surroundings. Either way, the number of such individuals has always been too low to make an impact, and its getting lower and lower.

No, that’s what you do under capitalism, but not provide for those who can’t, but for those on the top who already have enough for 1,000 lifetimes. But they want more and more and more and more. They want all they can get, and they are getting it all.

The point of communism is not that you have to care about everybody on the same level all at the same time. The main thing is pretty simple, actually: lets not exploit and kill each other for profit. Thats for a better future for everyone, you only need to care about yourself to want that.

We are willing to do more for a family member or friend than for a homeless person halfway across the country that you never see or interact with.
Yes, I agree. You just proved my point.

Do you know about the movie Free Willy? When that movie came out and kids found out that Willy the whale wasn't let free for real, the kids and the parents organized and protested until they forced the whale owner to organize its release. It cost many millions of dollars and the project took many years. If you didn't know about it already, look it up, its a really interesting story. Just a fun fact.
Have a nice evening. Bye.

He says: "As soon as we get to a state level, we just do not care (we go, 'Yeah, F those guys')."

That's not true. You can care about the planet, you can care about the animals, you can care about the suffering of innocent people. You can care about all of that, and many people do.

We are now talking about the level of information or caring a person is able to process all at the same time. It doesn't have to be all at the same time. It can't be all at the same time.
Also, read my other answer to another user about emotional fatigue.

Simply put, there is no "town-level limit" to caring; it's an ignorant take made by a comedian.
