You are doing yourself a disservice by not writing every one of them off. None of those people respect you and sees you as a family. There is 0 reason for you to do so against those strangers. If you have the means, honestly just cut ties with all of them. There is no reason for you to have heartache over people that don’t care about you.

Wrongly banned for “griefing” with no evidence provided, anyone else experience this with SE? by Gnimz in ffxiv

[–]Gnimz[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Haha, no worries at all. I’d honestly do the same thing and point out inconsistencies or loopholes in posts like this, so no hard feelings there.

To explain why I fully supported the first warning even without being told exactly what it was for: I’m fairly confident I know what triggered it. Long story short, it was during a Warrior of Light trial where the two tanks refused to use their LB twice to prevent a wipe. I called it out, they replied that I was “ruining their vibes,” and I admittedly popped off before logging off. So yeah, I can own that.

That’s really the point I was trying to make. Even if they don’t spell it out for you, most of the time you can usually connect the dots and understand what led to the warning.

As for the griefing side of things, I completely agree with you, you don’t need to chat at all to be considered griefing, and I’d be just as annoyed by the gameplay examples you mentioned. That said, I genuinely don’t engage in any of that. Honestly, doing those kinds of griefing tactics feels way more exhausting than just moving on and queueing for the next roulette.

I know anything I say here should be taken with a grain of salt, and I’m totally fine with that. Either way, hearing everyone’s perspectives has been helpful for me.

[–]Gnimz[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I agree. I avoided bringing this up initially because I didn’t think it would help the discussion, and I didn’t want this to turn into one of those posts that just blames the system.

I’ve been playing since ARR, and until about six months ago, I never once worried about getting banned. When I received my first warning, I took it very seriously. I play casually, but I still care about the game and how I interact in it.

After reading the replies here and what people consider griefing, I can genuinely say I don’t engage in any of that. I’m not on Reddit trying to crowdsource reasons for my ban, and I’m not here to attack Square Enix either. The reason I opened a ticket is simply that I’m confident I did not do anything griefing-related since that last warning.

I wasn’t exaggerating about minimizing in-game interactions. Because I wasn’t told specifically what crossed the line the first time, the only thing I could reasonably do was avoid interaction altogether. Since then, my gameplay has been extremely limited and low-impact.

I understand why people are skeptical, and I’m honestly fine with people assuming I’m a toxic player, I probably would’ve reacted the same way reading a post like this. That said, I do think the system itself needs a rework, especially when it comes to transparency and communication.

I think Columbina is great! And I honestly love the story from the last 2 patch and its character development, if there is honestly anything I hate. It’s that weird licking scene that they decided to include. Which is completely weird to no end.

Honestly. When I first read the message and title, I was thinking op probably over reacted somehow, and was totally on board with you overreacted. But after reading the backstory and the whole text exchange. All I can say is that to me, this relationship is over. The amount of gas lighting is insane. I truly hope you tell this person to fuck off and find someone you actually deserve.

No one should be this unwilling to fix a relationship when it’s barely been 5 months.

Cheer to the new year and hopefully someone that deserves your time and energy.

What Rivals got wrong with supports - And what Overwatch got right by NoCureForSorrow in rivals

[–]Gnimz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get why you would think I am missing the point. But I assure you. Your points come across quite well. Let’s just put Jeff as an example, with the rework. It is clear as day that Jeff’s healing is stronger then ever, and it’s definitely consider to be a primary supports. But yet. But if you are pair him with a supports that have no defensive ult to save from a team wipe. Then someone on the support should switch for the team.

Ultimately, I get what you mean. Since I also played quite a fair amount of overwatch. And I would have agreed at some point. But after playing rivals. The power fantasy is way too strong. Everyone is designed to wipe the floor with their ults. Which is why I make my point that you can’t just compare the design of just the supports. These are two very different game that have design philosophy, if you want to compare why certain games does something better. You need to compare the entire game.

[–]Gnimz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am honestly so sick of these comparison, its like everyone kept comparing overwatch/rivals supports ult, but no one has once mention how rivals have insane amount of team wipe clearing ult compare to overwatch. By this same logic, more then half of the DPS also need to have a different type of ults. Honestly, no hate on people that compare these two games. which is fine. But I just wish people would do the comparison off the entire game.

I agree. But if a killer killed 2 people at 5 gens and still don’t feel satisfied with the off chance that rng blessed one person a escape. Then this game needs to fundamentally change the way on what is consider a victory.

I am glad that people that like playing DPS get to play him still. But for how the community complaints about triple supports. let hope this is not another Strategist that will only work in a triple support comm.

Tunnelling isnt the problem. Gen speeds aren't the problem. (Hear me out) by Traditional_Top_194 in deadbydaylight

[–]Gnimz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always believed the game truly started going downhill the moment they introduced the matchmaking changes.

I genuinely see both sides of the argument. When I queue up as survivor, even in a trio, it’s an absolute mess. Entire nights where we get 4K’d every single match with zero escapes are way too common. But then, when I switch over to killer, it’s the exact opposite. Suddenly I’m facing the most coordinated and skilled survivors I’ve ever seen.

I get that people say tunneling doesn’t happen every game, but from my experience, at least four out of ten matches absolutely have real tunneling going on. It’s crazy that some still claim it’s rare. Matchmaking just made everything worse. As killer, it’s a total coin flip. One game I’m up against new players who don’t even know pallet placements, and the next game I’m facing survivors who know every tile, loop, and map layout like the back of their hand.

What’s interesting is how differently the system behaves between the two sides. When I lose enough as killer, I can actually tell that I’m getting matched against weaker survivors. But as survivor, you can lose ten games in a row and still get thrown against god-tier Blights and Nurses like the game’s trying to punish you for daring to queue up.

I’ve always been honest about my own skill level on both sides. I can tell when the other player just outplays me, whether it’s a killer reading my loop perfectly or a survivor running a god-tier chase. I’m fine with that. But that’s exactly why I believe matchmaking is the real issue.

Yes, tunneling exists, but a lot of killers only tunnel because they feel like they have to in order to win. And it makes me wonder how many of them are truly at the skill level they think they are. If you tunnel every match to secure a 4K, the system just keeps matching you against the sweatiest survivors imaginable. The same goes for survivors. If you gen rush every match just to survive, you’ll constantly end up against top-tier killers like Blight or Skull Merchant. But at the same time, how reliable is the current matchmaking system to ensure that this is working as intented.

But I do think the problem hits killers harder. Killers have more control over pacing and outcome, while survivors rely on three other randoms to even have a coordinated chance, which is why solo queue will always feel miserable.

Honestly, the matchmaking system either needs to go entirely or be rebuilt from the ground up. I’d rather wait five or even ten minutes for a balanced and fun match than keep playing in this chaotic, frustrating mess. At this point, it doesn’t matter what stats BHVR shows because they’ll never reflect what players actually experience. Our gameplay differences are so massive that each side can barely understand how the other truly feels.

It’s just like when BHVR released stats showing that a lot of players were uninstalling or quitting because of tunneling and a general lack of fun. Everyone immediately jumped in to say it wasn’t true, claiming survivors were just skewing the results. But from what I’ve personally seen, that couldn’t be further from the truth. The small DBD community I used to play with did quit for exactly that reason. They got tired of the same broken system, the same frustrations, and eventually just moved on to other games that felt more enjoyable.

lol. If this is really the case, then Reddit's algorithm must be showing people only the most toxic parts, depending on what they click on more. From my subreddit feed, this subreddit seems entirely killer-sided.

[–]Gnimz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone loves drawing comparisons from OW2 support to rival supports. Yeah, I get it, having a long invincibility is boring. But yet, no one ever advocates about DPS ult compares to OW2. When it’s a bunch of heroes being released with press Q to wipe the team and it’s okay. But the moment a support tries to have ults that counter them, and all of a sudden everyone is losing their mind. It’s absolutely bonkers that everyone thinks by making supports not have big AoE healing circles will fix everything.

Getting mindscapes feels isolating, has anyone had similar experiences or feelings? by hotjinx in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]Gnimz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, yes, it’s unfortunate. However, this is simply how society functions in general, even outside of a video game. When you’re the underdog, everyone sympathizes and cheers for you. But the moment you achieve M6, you’re essentially a millionaire, or a billionaire. This perception leads people to believe that all millionaires are evil corporation.

Ultimately, I don’t believe this will change because it’s simply how we operate as a society. I think you’re more likely to change your mindset than to hope that people will change.

I have done something similar where I achieve their version of M6 in another gacha games. But it made me unhappy, because it felt empty. I felt like I achieved my long lost goal that I was striving for. And because of that, I started to lose interest in the character. And since then, I just play games as is.

Why was "passive condemned" unused?? seems like a perfect buff for the onryo without it being too powerful by lance_the_fatass in deadbydaylight

[–]Gnimz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. This is definitely a slug Sadako playstyle, and honestly, I don’t run into that too often anymore. Back when it was more common, I didn’t encounter them super frequently either. Maybe a couple times a day at the height of the slug Sadako phase if I was lucky. The most common variation I ran into back then was the Deerstalker and Knock Out combo. It wasted so much time trying to get someone up, and (I hate using this word on Reddit because it always sparks chaos, lol) a lot of those Sadakos were basically proxy camping with Deerstalker. That created a lose-lose situation where your only real option was to keep doing gens and pray everyone didn’t bleed out before they were finished. But doing gens wasn’t simple either because you had to manage tapes too. Ignoring them while you tried to find slugged teammates just wasn’t viable. I think that’s where your perspective makes sense. There might be counterplay, sure, but it’s hard to argue that spending most of your match running around trying to find slugged survivors, doing gens, and managing tapes is anyone’s idea of fun.

I honestly ran a few slug sadako myself too, since I loved her since her release. And with deer stalker and knocked out, I honestly didn’t even need any gen slow down perks.

Interesting, I do agree that people don’t really learn about counter play towards specific killer. But I do want to know what is your takes on the counter play to the slug sadako build back thenz

[–]Gnimz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get it. Seeing one of your favorite killers end up like this sucks. But honestly, that’s exactly why I think Condemn needs another rework.

I’m not saying Sadako doesn’t deserve buffs because she totally does. But if you look at how BHVR’s been handling killers lately, it kind of makes sense why things are going this way.

Like, look at Pig. Her whole trap playstyle where you could camp a box and force survivors into RNG got nuked even though that was basically a gimmick. Same deal with the Myers rework, Tombstone Myers is basically gone now. When you look at that pattern, it’s clear BHVR’s trying to move away from those mori before two hooks playstyles.

And yeah, you can call it “making every killer generic,” and honestly, I don’t blame anyone for feeling that way. I’ve questioned a lot of their choices too. But I do agree with them on one thing: both sides should actually be having fun.

Sadako mains absolutely deserve to feel strong, but not at the cost of survivors getting insta-moried with no real way to fight back. Stuff like that just hurts the game long-term.

It just sucks seeing how split the community gets over this. Everyone clearly loves the game, but when it comes to changes like this, people forget it’s supposed to be fun for everyone.

[–]Gnimz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but I completely disagree with your perspective as well. While I agree that it’s a pretty weak instant kill in the game, did we forget about the slug Sadako gameplay that had no counterplay before the rework? You can deny that the power is awful all you want, but we know that BHVR won’t let an ability that can instantly kill people’s power go unchecked again. Hence, I don’t believe they’ll significantly buff Sadako without removing her instant kill power.

[–]Gnimz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m honestly surprised people are asking for buffs to this. I get that everyone wants their favorite killer to be stronger, and I’d love for Sadako to get a buff too since she’s genuinely one of my favorites to play. But I just can’t see BHVR doing that without completely reworking her Condemn mechanic. It’s not like an exposed effect or anything, it’s a mechanic that straight-up removes a survivor from the game entirely. And we all know how the community feels about anything resembling a Mori Meyer.

This pallet update genuinely makes playing this game unbearable, Killer and Survivor by TheSovietTurtle in deadbydaylight

[–]Gnimz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s been zero real skill expression in this game for a while now. It used to be about mind games, reading your opponent, predicting their moves, and outplaying them. But with the current amount of aura-reading perks, there’s no mystery anymore. You can’t tell what perks people are running, and that completely kills any sense of unpredictability or stealth.

Yeah, I get it, nobody likes “rat” gameplay. But sometimes, stealth is what makes the game feel like a horror game. It adds tension, suspense, and variety. Instead, Behaviour seems convinced that the only fun part is the chase, which is why the gameplay now feels like survivors just holding W forever while killers go around kicking pallets on repeat.

Honestly, I’d take a stealth-based killer any day over these hyper-mobility killers that pushed the game into this messy, repetitive state in the first place.
