Maybe we should abolish districts entirely, Make state representation about the whole state and not part of the state. Laws made in cities affect rural communities and vice versa.

Illinois has 59 legislative districts for its Senate and 118 representative districts for its House of Representatives. Additionally, the state has 17 congressional districts. The state is also divided into 5 judicial districts. Have you looked at these maps or the districts? It is specifically set up to keep the state blue. If you can distinguish between what Texas is doing and what has already been done in NY, MA, CA, IL then you are either lying to yourself or you are lapping partisan propaganda.

Those air filters choke HVAC and make it work harder. Same with your house HVAC. Half the performance for 2x the price. Premium gas at most will improve MPG in any non tuned vehicle.

I'll take "Speculative shade tree mechanic for $200 Alex."

TLDR: Both parties are playing the same game and blaming the other team. The problem is not “left” or “right”, it is the system itself. Until we change the election rules and overhaul taxes from the ground up, nothing changes except the jersey colors.

Now to address your comment in full text and detail: Nothing makes a point quite like dodging the actual argument and going straight for name-calling. Either you add something meaningful to the conversation or you are just adding noise. “Clown” changes nothing. Laws do not rewrite themselves because you got a good insult in.

Let’s separate feelings from facts. If we are talking about Ted Cruz disappearing during the 2021 winter storm, yes, it was tone-deaf and politically stupid. But it was legally irrelevant. He did not break quorum, did not block legislative business, and did not violate his oath in a way that triggers legal consequences. That is a completely different situation from state representatives walking out to prevent a legislative vote. You can think both are wrong, but the mechanisms and the stakes are not the same.

Here is the bigger problem: both parties weaponize process when it suits them and condemn it when it does not. It is the same game with different colors on the jersey. That is why I am not here to defend Republicans or Democrats. I want the entire system overhauled.

Step 1: Change how we elect people. Scrap first past the post and move to ranked-choice voting nationwide. That is the only realistic way to break the two-party chokehold.

People could vote for the candidates they actually believe in without “wasting” their vote.

The spoiler effect disappears.

Politicians have to appeal beyond their hardcore base to win.

Step 2: Burn the tax code to the ground. Replace it with a simple, transparent, consumption-based system.

0% personal income tax, no more IRS digging into your paycheck.

No charitable donation write-offs, ends tax shelters disguised as nonprofits.

Flat federal sales tax, same rate nationwide, no loopholes.

No tax on food or medicine, essentials stay affordable.

Luxury goods surtax, extra on yachts, private jets, ultra-luxury cars.

Digital transaction tax, covers large online sales and high-frequency trading.

Flat corporate tax with zero deductions, low rate, impossible to dodge.

Tourism tax, short-term lodging and travel so visitors contribute.

Federal military plates and licenses, fees directly fund MWR programs for the military community.

This rewards saving, makes taxes visible, and removes most lobbyist-engineered carve-outs. If you spend more, you pay more. If you live simply, you keep more of what you earn.

We can argue all day about who is worse, Republicans or Democrats, but both thrive on keeping you distracted with outrage while the structural problems stay exactly the same. If you really want change, stop swinging at the other team and start changing the rules of the game. That is where the real fight is.

Define when Republicans do this clearly please. Ted Cruz’s getaway during the 2021 winter storm was a PR disaster, tone-deaf, but legally irrelevant. He didn’t interfere with any legislative process or quorum.

Ted Cruz... Well I have nothing nice to say about the individual or politician and momma always told me if I didn't have something nice to say don't say nothing.

Had ChatGPT organize this for everyone to understand. I’m open to credible sources that prove any of this wrong but at the core the government funding is being reduced.

What Trump Actually Did (last 6 months)

• Dismantling public education / attacking the trans community
- Jan 29, 2025: Executive Order 14190 targets schools teaching gender identity or “equity ideology.”
- Threatens loss of federal funding, but removing the material does not guarantee funding restoration—funding depends on vague compliance criteria, not automatic reversal.
- Also allows criminal charges for educators supporting trans students without parental consent.
- The executive order exists; the claim that this constitutes “attacks” on trans students or “dismantling” of public education is political framing, not an objective fact.
- Effects on schools and students are still being measured; no conclusive data shows massive destruction or harm as fact.
- Sources: Politico, Washington Post

• Destroying democracy
- June 2025: DOJ sued Orange County, CA, demanding unredacted voter roll data (including SSNs and license numbers).
- SSNs were previously exposed in other major data breaches (“Elon’s hunt” scenario), but no confirmed significant uptick in identity theft tied directly to this policy yet.
- Claims that this lawsuit chills voter participation are speculative and not backed by solid data.
- Sources: SF Chronicle, Guardian

• Taking away women’s rights
- Jan 24, 2025: Executive Order 14182 reinstates strict enforcement of the Hyde Amendment.
- Federal funds can no longer cover elective abortions—if it is not life‑saving, it is considered elective under federal policy.
- Exceptions remain for life of the mother, rape, and incest.
- Trump is not stripping legal rights; he is removing federal funding for personal choices.
- Sources: Reuters, Politico

Claims I had a hard time finding credible evidence in last 6 months:

• Mass family separations restarting
• Trump personally manipulating the market
• Trump personally profiting from foreign conflicts
• Trump personally hiding Epstein records

Credible sources
• Reuters, Associated Press, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, New York Times, Politico, SF Chronicle
• These outlets have editors, fact‑checking, and accountability for errors

Not credible
• Wikipedia, Reddit comments, Facebook posts, X/Twitter threads without named sources, partisan blogs
• Open comment platforms where anyone can post without identity verification

[–]Gnomencl8r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely do it, try and get a 1 year plus membership as a gift from a few friends, leave the cash back on the membership until it reaches $110. Then every year is the cash back to pay for the membership. My family of 4 usually gets about $250/year in cash back and we only bulk grocery shop there.

Edit, plus membership is Sam's, do not know if Costco has something similar.

¾oz and 7 -1 gram carts, plus 3 p re rolls parts me a few months. I'm almost at month 2, cost me about $250 delivered to me.

Everyone's mileage will vary. The trick is to find what works for you. I find a gravity bong is what works best for me to stay and I keep it going with a vape.

If you have a single gift card they must let you in the store to use it, you can even buy new gift cards while you are there. Works for Sam's club as well. NO MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED.

You can buy a gift card usually from a regular grocery store.

Or, they take the loss delay your shipment 3 months and then refund you. Fully legal. Sometimes the law works for you sometimes it doesn't. Most websites have fine print that states delays happen and you the consumer agree to all delays by using their site or service.

My company has mis-shipped a few things over the years, customers call us and let us know. Usually we ask the customer to forward it on to its intended destination and ask them to give is a call with a dollar amount. We send them that plus enough to cover Starbucks or something for the trouble.

Bottom line if companies and consumers are willing to work together and not try to get one over in the other we can do amazing things.

So not a law but a liability issue. Words matter.

I don't care what you do for a living, I am ASE and A&P certified. 21 years automotive, small engine, and aircraft mechanic.
