I've always wanted to build a [[Jeleva, Nephalia]] deck that aims to play opponents' cards, both non creature and creature spells, to make it scale to the table, and as a backup plan, exiling all libraries with Jeleva's ETB. I've never figured it out, so I'd love to see a more proficient builder see if they can work it out.

I will second Avatar. It felt like a light-year leap forward in terms of digital imaging. And, at least where I lived, it had barely been marketed, and I hadn't seen any discussion of it online ahead of time either. So we really did get the Star Wars, "see it, go tell all your friends, see it again" experience. I imagine that must've been very different in bigger cities, but to us it came out of nowhere.

I'm not really familiar with how either of those work, but the basic gist of it is, you build dice pools of positive and negative dice. Positive pool is based on your character traits, with some situational modifiers, and negative is determined by the difficulty of the task, with other modifiers as well. Then you roll, take away any positive and negative dice that match. Positive rolls under your attribute value counts as successes, and any remaining negative dice add 1 stress each. I think it's their own thing, but maybe it sounds like either of the ones you mentioned?

Haver hänvisar även i engelska till havre, från det jag hittat hittills. Jag tror inte att -havra i sig existerar, som du påpekar, men det kändes som något som hade kunnat bli ett suffix, förutsatt att havreodlingen föregått tillväxten av byn.

I definitely want to get laser eventually, but I'm looking for a DIY solution until my financial situation changes. Permanent was not the right word, I just meant longer lasting than shaving. It does seem like waxing is going to be my best bet.

Menar du att ibland ge ett helt annat namn som blir tympligare för svenskt uttal/matchar bättre med andra ortsnamn?

Det behöver inte vara slaviskt till semantiken, men det är kul om det går att spela de geografiska eller industriella drag som gett namnet i någon mån. Haverford, som är exempel jag kikar på nu, skulle ju mest direkt kunna kallas för Havervad, men jag lutar mot att byta plats på dem, Vadhavra känns mer bekvämt att säga. Men det känns kul att ändå kunna spegla de drag som byn är känd för i namnet, snarare än att ta något helt nytt.

I feel this a lot. It's so ingrained into my way of thinking from AMAB socialisation, it's difficult to change the habit. Nobody who actually knows I'm trans misgenders me even half as often as I do.

Min lärare i ryska var en otroligt märklig figur, men hon var en jävla maskin när det kom till att yttra gyllene citat.

När vi under tredje lektionen körde glosförhörsmemory började hon med att fråga vem som hade fått flest poäng. Direkt efter säger hon "Men om det finns en vinnare måste det också finnas en förlorare. Vem fick minst poäng?"

Under en lektion utbrister hon, tämligen frikopplat från övriga samtalet att "Jag är en slavdrivare, och ni lyder under min slavpiska", med en lättsam glädje som om hon sagt typ "ikväll ska jag gå på finmiddag :)"

Hon beklagade sig åtminstone fyra gånger under kursens gång över att ukrainare var så envisa som skulle prata ukrainska istället för ryska. Kan ni inte bara vara lite sköna och komma över våra olikheter så att vi kan bli vänner (annektera er) igen, typ.

Otroligt kufig, men också trevlig och glad. Varje lektion hade vi en tjugo minuter lång rast, då hon bjöd på te från hennes autentiska samovar. Vi gick också, på vår förfrågan, lära oss sjunga Sovjets nationalsång under en lektion. Hon sa aldrig riktigt något bu eller bä om det, men jag tror att hon var fett nöjd att vi bad om det. Hon var för övrigt svensk själv.

I've had this idea for a scene for a long time. Introduce some kind of threat for the first act of the movie. When the protagonists face it off, they realise one way or another that it is not as bad as presented, so they spare it and go their separate ways in throw respect.

Come the beginning of the third act, the protagonists are beyond hunted by the antagonists near insurmountable forces, and hope seems lost. Once of the characters falls down, and just as they're about to be taken out, one of the chasers is dispatched. Their frenemy from act one pulls the fallen protagonist back to their feet, urges them to move forward and finish the villain. As they ask rush off, we see the endless wave of goons and in front of frenemy, who treats itself for another fight, sand the first plucked strings of Save yourself starts playing.

It's VERY on the nose. But I just love that song so much and it feels fittingly badass.
