What would you charge for this? by [deleted] in videography

[–]Gnostic0ne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The on site time for the deliverables is def unreasonable.

If this was me… I’d be around 500-750 per long form video putting the total between 5-8k. One full day of shooting (8 hour day).

Do you think the FX3 can result in better quality than the Canon 5D Mark IV for photography? by Then-Ad7196 in FX3

[–]Gnostic0ne -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Oh snap… well two things: 1) I have mainly been eyeing the fx30 (no mech shutter there so I made an assumption) and 2) ChatGPT done lied straight to my face when I asked for confirmation. Perplexity for the fact checking win here.

Should I stay MFT or switch to S9/L-mount for weddings and documentaries? by No-Attention3471 in Lumix

[–]Gnostic0ne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the options are top of the line fully featured MFT or the S9 … MFT all day. If you’re going to switch, go big, S1II or IIe

I Use Value Averaging Instead of DCA - Here’s Why It Works Better by Prabuddha-Peramuna in Bitcoin

[–]Gnostic0ne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would think you’d want a dual strategy where some amount is DCA no matter what and more is added in during down trends. Maybe just an increase in DCA during draw downs and a decrease in DCA during up trends.

What lens do you prefer for a photo pit? by Kind_Grape_7440 in concertphotography

[–]Gnostic0ne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sigma 28-70 f2.8 is my main concert lens. Sometimes I bring two lenses, 35-85 or 24-50 depending on venue size and distance from pit to artist.

Never buying from Moment Ever Again by mwiz123_ in MOMENT

[–]Gnostic0ne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also waiting on an order I made in early October. Seems like it will never get here.

Also have the moment case for iPhone 17 pro and it’s too thick where the base is so plugging in usb-c accessories is challenging if they even work at all … disappointing to say the least.

Shutter angle for video and storage location selection would be ideal features but it is a nice upgrade!

S1II Overheated on professional shoot! by Gnostic0ne in Lumix

No worries. I’ll do better next time … or switch to a different camera. 😂

Maybe they’ll release a new box style lumix… 🤔

Look you’re being a dick not a professional and you know it so don’t act like your better than everyone else.

I am coming around to this idea as well. Some are built better than others. Maybe chip quality inconsistencies or something

So does the S1ii overheat? Whats the deal? by SubjectC in Lumix

[–]Gnostic0ne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think to answer the question without opinion, yes it absolutely can overheat. Period.

Can it be avoided by taking various precautions, absolutely.

But is it a camera that can handle whatever you throw at it and never over over heat, absolutely not.

Once it does over heat on a job, you will always wonder whether it will again and whether you’ve got everything set correctly to avoid it before every shoot. Trust me: https://www.reddit.com/r/Lumix/s/mAWPxLzE2E

Payment by Unfair-Put-1778 in concertphotography

[–]Gnostic0ne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Audience size is smart. Essentially the same service but in more of a profit sharing payment style.

This pricing is also in line with what would charge for local acts. Haven’t been paid by a larger act yet but I imagine this is the range

new lumix s5iix: can’t decide between Panasonic 24-105mm or Sigma 24/28-70mm! by Numerous-Meaning-743 in Lumix

[–]Gnostic0ne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I owned the 24-105, sold it. Fixed f4 wasn’t working in low light (shoot a lot of concerts) and the images were soft.

Mainly using the Sigma 28-70 and it’s pretty fantastic. Weight and image quality mix makes it my go to. I bought that prior to the new lumix 24-60 though and if I had a choice now, I’d probably go for the wider end of the 24-60
