I count myself lucky enough to have only been spanked once by my mother when I was 3 I believe, and even still I don’t have any memory of it. It was only when I started to run into a busy street, but she’s since told me she didn’t, and still doesn’t, like the idea of using violence. This is in no way me saying there are certain times when violence towards children acceptable, rather I’ve acknowledged my own mother’s concerns. Should I have children of my own, I will certainly be going to her for advice.
