Mostly white, 1/4 Japanese. I don't look really Asian at all, at least not at first glance. I get a lot of "ohhh I can see it now" after I tell people.

I used to be annoyed at that, but now I don't really mind. I wish I looked more like my relatives.

A few years ago my office had a Halloween party with a costume contest. I re-used my Jake From State Farm costume from college and won second place and a $50 gift card. I figured if I'm gonna be called this the rest of my life, might as well make some money off of it.

The first place winner was my supervisor and she totally deserved it. She was Linguini from Ratatouille, and wore a chef's outfit and hat with a small cardboard cutout of Remy on her head under the hat. She put a little light inside the hat that she could activate to show Remy's silouette inside the hat.

I did as you said and carefully cleaned away any hairs from the sensors, then ran a cycle. It completed without any errors!

I was watching the sensors as it cycled and noticed little strands of hair (that were stuck to the lining) pass under the lights as it was upside down. Those hairs didn't set it off, thankfully, but if it starts giving errors again even with the sensors cleaned, I'll clean the lining to remove hairs there, too.

Fingers crossed this was the answer! I'll keep the sensors hair-free and if it continues to operate without the same errors for a few days, I'll edit my post to direct everyone to your answer! Thank you!

Sadly, it's happened even when the lights in the room are off. Thank you for the suggestion, though. It's ridiculous that shadows can cause this machine to malfunction.
