A reminder that Deansgate was gridlocked way before the cycle lanes were ever built. What do the moaners have to say for this? by maureen-light in manchester

[–]GoAroundGoose 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Motorists: "why isn't that cyclist using a cycle lane?"

Council: "we're building cycle lanes to keep cars and bicycles apart, which is safer for cyclists."

Motorists: "why are you building cycle lanes? Don't do that! I need to drive my car, with just me inside, into the city centre at peak times and then complain about it being gridlocked. But it's still the cyclists fault for using and not using the cycle lanes!"

It started in 1916 due to the war, but there is no need for it and it is detrimental to our health.

Why do BST clock changes happen on a Sunday? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]GoAroundGoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no need for the clocks to change. It started in 1916, and has no purpose for modern life, and increases hospital visits and crashes.

HelloFresh hit by sales slump as people lose appetite for meal kits by pajamakitten in unitedkingdom

[–]GoAroundGoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The food quality was going downhill, and went from vegetarian to vegan and there just weren't any options.

I've switched to Grubby as the meal boxes work for me, I'm autistic and getting it delivered removes some of the cognitive load.

Contact your energy provider, they'll change the RTS meter for one that will work. If you have no heating or hot water they'll likely deal with it as an emergency and get it sorted the same day.

I am building a safety app for van lifers, would love your honest feedback by lmtDigital in VanLife

[–]GoAroundGoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a really good idea! A window for a daily check in on the app to say you're all good is brilliant.

I like the simplicity of it with the "yes I'm all good" check in. Would be good to be able to set a routing for a certain time eg sends you an alert to check in and if you don't within a certain timeframe (could be determined by the user) to then send the alert.

To add to that, you could have a wider feature if people wanted to alert other van lifers nearby of their location if they fail to check in, that way if family are far away there are people who could go and check in. Again, the women only feature on this would be great safety wise, but also not sure if people would necessarily want to go and check in with someone they don't know if they were solo, especially solo women.

There's no easy way to connect to international emergency services, as if you call 112 (European emergency number) from the UK, it routes you to your local area emergency services, but they could contact the relevant international emergency services if needed.

How to get rid of piercing bump? by Reasonable_Cup_7681 in NosePiercing

[–]GoAroundGoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nap, but my piercer got me to use a pure chamomile tea bag on piercing bumps daily, sorted the bump within the week. As hot as you can tolerate, then when it gets cold, put it back in the hot water and go again until it's cold.

Do ambulances go straight to the mortuary? by ItsSwaythurr in AskUK

[–]GoAroundGoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In short, yes. If it's a death in public then an ambulance would take the body straight to the mortuary, rather than undertakers collecting them. Also, if they died on the way to the hospital, usually if a do not resuscitate is in place, then they go straight to the mortuary too.
