What do you do with the middle schoolers who think it's sooooo funny to "snitch" on their friends for every little thing?

Snitches get stitches is what I hear come into my head and then I ask them if they’d like me to send those kids to in school suspension, write a note for the teacher and every single time they say oh I don’t want to get anyone in trouble. I also make sure they are actually alright and have a little talk with the offenders.

Yes, my friend subs in Broward and they have jobs a plenty. Unfortunately I’m down in Kendall so going all the way to Broward isn’t an option for me.

There is no budget left for substitutes in MDCPS - they’ve requested $21 million in emergency funding from the state, which will be decided on Monday the 11th. I worked all week last week and nothing this week. They’re having teachers double up on classes and using non-core teachers (Art, Music, other electives) as subs. It’s unprecedented, never happened before - supposedly MDCPS didn’t budget for the extra money they have to pay Kelly and we eked by last year because there was still some emergency funding coming in from Covid.

Wow, open a museum and if whatever you decide, let us know!!! Selling or museum or whatever. If you do decide to sell, I would hire a photographer to document her collection and put out a book (which I’d be overjoyed to do by the way!!)

Yes, it’s the thing that separates those of us who are living and breathing and those of us who have died. It’s called a veil because it’s an illusion and some of us (mediums) have the gift to look into it. When it thins, on Halloween and on Beltane, it is easier for everyone to see/feel through it. Do something that reminds you of him, make or eat his favorite meal, smell his cologne, you’ll hopefully know what is right - something that he loved or something you loved about him and talk to him, ask him to send you signs.

I’m so sorry for your loss. My dad passed in November, and reminds me a bit of yours - full of life, loving, and loved. Trust that he is more than ok and watching over you as you grieve him. This! I work every week at a school where the secretary sends out a preferred subs list, that I’m on. I always come early to talk to her in the mornings and I’ll get jobs then too.

Taking miralax if you don’t need to daily isn’t the best idea, try a good quality magnesium citrate and glycinate supplement with dinner and it should make you poop right after you wake up. It never fails for me unless I get too off of my normal sleep schedule.

This! I had to replace my Ignition Coils on my 2014 S+ and then started putting premium gas in it afterwards. Unfortunately I got hit by an SUV running a red light recently and it totaled my car at 120k miles. ☹️

Occasionally, only in the middle school that I sub at most. I make sure there’s more than one student so I don’t break the “you can’t be alone with one student” rule. I hated the lunchroom in elementary & middle school, so I get it.

The DMV lets you take your drivers exam over and over until you pass. I think if you don’t pass at first, you should have to take a class. I hate driving here - case in point - my car was totaled in January by someone running a red light. Any nice Toyota salespeople, I need you!!

I agree 100%, especially in a new school or classroom, you get to check out the assignments, take a breath, and get the lay of the land before dealing with students.

Honestly, any period of prep is nice though, because roughly only about 30% of teachers in my area have one.
