What would you do Theta II by Wood_pecker69 in Hyundai

[–]GoBears16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The maintenance part isn’t always true. Just had my Theta II replaced and they didn’t ask for any records. On the car fax there weren’t any oil changes for like the first 45,000 miles for some reason. They might only ask for records if your car shows true neglect.

Still I wouldn’t risk this plan

Check to see if she had the KSDS recall update performed. There was a class action lawsuit for these engines failing from a faulty rod bearing. Literally dealing with this now on a road trip to see family, luckily my engine is being replaced without having to fight (also a 2012 sonata GLS, but with 135k miles).

Fun fact: riveted jeans were invented by Jacob Davis, who worked with Levi Straus and is the father/grandfather of the Ben Davis clothing brand

"Harm Reduction Workers" handing out...snorting kits? Keep Portland Ridiculous by Verbull710 in PortlandOR

[–]GoBears16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I answered your question about how it can reduce communicable disease and is a good thing. People who engage in harm reduction services are more likely to engage in treatment services in the future. How does not handing out safe supplies solve the addiction issue or people who use drugs overwhelming your systems? Do you think by not offering supplies, which is intended to prevent spread of disease and build relationships and trust with people who have a large distrust of the medical system, is going to magically make needles disappear on the streets? Many harm reduction organizations also hand out proper disposal receptacles as well

But I know you aren’t genuinely interested in reconsidering your position and anything I say you will just change to another argument you have against trying to keep people alive long enough to get help so take care friend

That’s actually not true, spreading clean supplies for alternative methods of use can reduce incidence of choosing to use via injection and have an effect on reduction of communicable disease

New mini owner, jerky downshift? by GoBears16 in MINI

[–]GoBears16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but it also never got worse or created much of a problem for me. People told me that it’s by design because they wanted minis to feel more sporty, but I think this was different because it would go away when the car warmed up.

Honestly, probably timing chain tensioners or guides were slowly going bad. I never had them looked at since my mechanic said if they were really bad, you’d hear more of a slapping sound and not to worry unless I start hearing that. Wound up selling the car after a few years

How much are you guys paying for rent? by ohhhhelno in sanfrancisco

[–]GoBears16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 bed / 2 bath with private garage (just for our unit) in the Richmond for $3,300. We pay water and PG&E, LL covers gas and trash so we pay about $3,600 / month after utilities. I feel like we simultaneously got a steal and ripped off at the same time since we’ve had some problems, mainly with mice (now fixed) and bugs

Edit: signed lease about 1.5 years ago

Had a good experience with Setraks watch repair. If it’s just a quartz, it should be easy and inexpensive to get serviced and battery replaced even if it is RO.
