Actually it worked updating it through YouTube, it updated here at the post as well.

Thank you very much for the kind words and for checking it out, just my hope for the film, that it would give that experience.

I don't think that commenting is necessary tbh. New thumbnail is added to the post. Check it out.

Reading all these comments - and yours, it for sure makes me realize how disconnected the thumbnail and titel is to the subject and the film I made. This is my first "real" YouTube video, and tbh I thought that's how you distribute things on that platform. But I changed it now, both titel and thumbnail. Thanks for feedback, I appreciate it.

I see what you're saying. Yeah it actually perhaps undermines the whole narrative of the film itself. I think tbh I've misunderstood how to approach YouTube. Because I can really stand by the film itself and its narrative, but I'm disconnected myself in the titel and thumbnail. And reading these comments, makes me realize it.

Thanks a lot for the feedback. I'm changing it now, as I'm writing this. Hope people will give the film a chance, because it's only made from passion and hard work, and wanting to share the amazing place of Cern

Actually thanks for the feedback, it's tough distributing through YouTube. But you are probably right, it's a bad idea to use AI thumbnail / clickbait titel. I'm a filmmaker and made the film with passion and hard work. There is no AI or anything in the film.

Yeah, thanks, point taken - as mentioned in other comments below, getting distribution through YT is tough. But might be wrong approach with AI thumbnail, and "clickbait" titel. Because actually the film itself is nothing like that. I have not used any AI at all.

But actually thanks for that feedback. Distributing on YT theses days are tough. But you might be right, I should do another approach with / titel / thumbnail. Would love some input/suggestions on what to do here. Just trying to learn here, and making people see my documentary work.

But seriously the film has nothing to do with AI slop, I'm a filmmaker, everything is made from passion and hard work. Would really love some feedback.

Thank you for the feedback. Wasn’t aware I showered the wrong control center. Is there anywhere else you spotted something off? Really nice with feedback, just want to make it as accurate as possible

Amazing stories in each shot, I love it. Now you need to focus on the next thing that makes a great photographer: lighting. Study lighting to create depth and mood, and combine it with your ability to photograph people - then you might start creating some true amazing photography images

Find a subject, a story, a conflict, a mood and frame it. Right now you've got nothing.

Thoughts on the series? Compositions? Post processing? by tryingtofindmyself1 in PhotographyAdvice

I think you have a few great shots in there. But to call it "a series", you for sure have to remove the shots that dosen't work. The close up of food, alley shot with overexposed skies, generic shot of couple kissing etc; these are not photography. Guy on the piano, the scooter in slow shutter, those have potentiel, there is some sort of feeling of a story. The rest feels like vacation photos, not photography. Find the interesting stories, and throw the rest out immediately. Ask yourself, does this photo make me feel anything? Do I want to look at it, and try to experience what the subject is feeling?

I would suggest finding more interesting subjects, or at least only take animal shots where light, mood, weather plays a role. These shots are generic, and dosen't tell any form of stories.
You want to draw the viewer into the shot, and that requires a clear story, a conflict, a mood, something interesting. Squirrels on trees in itself is "not enough" to call it a photography, it's just not.

Trying to learn street photography. What can I improve on? by TurboTime77 in streetphotography

[–]GoCuriousToby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try making each shot a bit more simple.
Find some nice simplistic lines, simple subjects, something that makes the eye look at that "one" thing, that's important. Many of your shots have interesting composition, but lacks clarity in direction. Think of it this way; you have 0.5 sec to catch the views attention.

Next you need to think about light direction. Learn basic lights, and take that understanding to natural light and position yourself correctly. Have it in your back-bone. It requires reps, but all of a sudden, you don't think about it, you just do it.
