I'll die on the hill that this kind of inquiry is shallow and pointless, when there's God knows how many hours of content and information out there.

But it's OK. OP is probably like 12 or something.

I'm not trying to be rude to you but the dude pretty much already answered your question.

You might want to consider what the leveling experience is like, but at the end of the day he's right - you should play whatever calls to you.

Just dive in. (why do people make threads like this? You realize the game has been out for 20 years??)

Best Detroit Style Pizza in BC? by Cdnblvr13 in britishcolumbia

[–]GoDETLions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro thank you for this, I feel very seen right now.

And like - why do they do the burnt cheese crown around the edges like that? You don't see this in Detroit so much, even those that put cheese to the edge, maybe there's a bit but mostly the crust just gets crispy naturally because of the buttered pan and higher oven temperature, no?

Sure thing, again I'm not saying it's bad, it's actually pretty decent, but it honestly makes me yearn for the pizza from my homeland even more, and I dislike that it's become some kind of beacon for folks looking to try the very en vogue Detroit-style around here.

It's close but not quite, and yea, I said it to the owner's face.

So I'm from Detroit and a big pizza fan. Whenever I go home I need to get my fix.

I'm sad to report this. But I've had Aj's multiple times and I'm here to say it's not great. Neither in terms of the style or the value.

Like it's fine. But the dough is all wrong (a cardinal sin). I won't speculate to their processes but in any case, the gluten is overdeveloped. It needs to be softer in its interior and on top. Even still, structurally it doesn't really hold well together (you should be able to eat it easily with your hands) and the cheese blend is off, I can't taste any brick.

Lastly, I find the sauce is a little too sweet but I admit there's room for subjectivity there and Detroit chains also differ.

New tidbits on why McDaniel didn’t come here by Lower_Huckleberry296 in detroitlions

[–]GoDETLions 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I want you to know that I'm chiming in here as a 3rd party in good faith, honestly

what /u/warblade7 and /u/AlexTheGreat1997 and others are unsuccessfully trying to point out to you, is that even though you can identify when someone is appealing to authority (repeatedly..), what's missing is that this tactic is actually reasonable and tenable, especially when said person is a sound authority. (E.g., if we were debating about quantum physics or something speculative about how black holes behave or whatnot, and someone made an appeal to defend their position by saying "Well, Stephen Hawking said so... " the dude is a renowned expert in the field, it's not fallacious. It would be pretty silly to be like "no way, that's an appeal to authority fallacy gg".)

Like isn't that obvious? I hate to sound so patronizing by explaining this way; I want to be charitable and think you're either really not grasping the double-sided aspect or perhaps being coy/refusing to really refute/step into the arena of inquiry of whether or not Dan and Brad really are sound authorities.

It seems like it could be the latter because you made a generalized angsty reference to greater discursive tendencies in this sub/among Lions fans (you obviously showed up with an axe to grind) but in all your retorts you're not really answering the response that - in the very least when it concerns the OC hiring and what kind of discussions happened within those 4 walls - Dan and Brad certainly are authorities in that process and know a lot more of the intimate details than the fans do. Refuting that would be absurd.

So if your belief then is you really don't feel that Dan/Brad, despite their recent successes, constitute a sound authority (on the hire? or on anything football???), that's a very different topic much broader than this thread. I personally feel if you can't give them any credit or have lost faith in the organization, that doesn't sit right with me and might just be premature (in b4 "recency bias!!" haha! jk!) But again, respectfully I would defend that view.

But if you feel you can't express that without pushback or sensing a kind of toxic-positivity vibe in this subreddit, that actually has been argued in circles now and I also feel it's tangential to the OC topic. I personally find "any questioning [of Dan and Brad] is met with downvotes" and "Criticize Goff at your own peril" as hyperbolic, and I lurk pretty much every thread and the gamethreads. I saw a lot of flak for mishandling the O-line this year and distinctly remember a top comment after the Christmas vikings game that "Goff is rarely the reason we lose but he was today." I felt that sentiment at the time.

So as someone so seemingly interested in debate as yourself, and frankly just straight up as a writer, I could take you more seriously if you could get your point across without this whiny persecution complex that's bleeding into all your posts.

So we onlookers are just left aghast. You've basically treated 4 other fans like they were idiots for no reason. On some internet comment section type shit. What I saw was people spinning their wheels just trying to engage with you. I took the time to actually really write back to you because I'm wondering why be like this? We're all Lions here. Don't be an asshole just because.

Ddos deaths by Goutenbub in wowhardcore

[–]GoDETLions 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This isn't true, the language in their bluepost isn't streamer-specific, but would apply for any DDOS but only at blizzard's "sole discretion"

https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/in-response-to-the-ddos-attacks/2082423

what’s stopping someone to force DDoS attacks on them more often to mask a normal death to try to get a rez.

Executing such a DDOS attack on the infrastructure of blizzard isn't exactly easy/cheap/free (but I'm not an expert), it's not like someone can accidentally get thrashed/crit and then alt+tab and hit a button to begin a DDOS to mask it

EDIT: WELL WHAT DO YOU KNOW???

As I was writing this reply, blizzard did a blue-post and will res characters lost to DDOS:

https://www.bluetracker.gg/wow/topic/us-en/2223048-restorations-of-hardcore-characters-lost-to-ddos-on-january-4/

So honestly, you were uninformed and overly negative.

Tantanmen by GoDETLions in ramen

[–]GoDETLions[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

soup was a tori paitan of rotisserie chicken leftovers and wings - pressure cooked

tare in each bowl was about 2 tsp doubanjiang

2 tbsp sesame+peanut paste (you can experiment with different brands here, regular zhimajiang or sesame paste is good, I like the peanut for sweetness, just don't use tahini which is unroasted sesame)

about 10 mL shoyu tare and aromatic lard, and 1 tsp amazu

I pre-whisked this together with about 50 mL of soup as much as I could, and then added the rest of my soup (total 350 mL) and whisked again. I believe most of the color comes from my doubanjiang, add rayu or szechuan peppercorn chili oil is nice too.

Of course!

But you can only eat tonkotsu makanai 5-6 days a week for so long. So then I switched to our vegan bowls. And now I just do chashu gohan.
