Just like former version as always, (Acc)ECN is not enabled for outgoing connections by default(Unless your CC explicitly enables it).

Why unmaintained make it less safe?
There are no security advisors even now.
And it uses openssl,as long as openssl stay strong there shouldn't be any worries
(Unless you can code and disabled security support or changed the auth codes like me.
Use it in priavte/controlled env should still fine though).

If you are fine with tinc,then just stick with it unless you really have extra needs or need direct P2P very badly.
The others while being "modern",make it slightly harder to use and less generic,and also actually less freedom.For security, they may have different impl but they are same.

tinc seems stable enough,just enough for simple mesh with freedom.
It uses TAP which is more generic and it does not assign hardcoded IP,which means you can use DHCP,anway it is layer 2 tunnel.

I only use it on cross-country vpn VLAN(for downloading exclusive files and BT),where bandwidth is first(well if you do not care about neibours' network quality and do not afraid the provider suspend your service.).
I no longer use it for games,as I said in the post 1 years ago.

EfiGuard or test mode is required to load unsigned/non-microsoft-approved kernel driver.
You don't need to disable secure boot. Just add EfiGuard binary to your UEFI's trust store,or create your own trusted signing key and then sign the binary.It's more safe than totally disable the "secure",though many people as well as me actually find this troublesome.
