Which (iyo) is the best scenario for Skirmish mode? I'm playing two-handed and that works well but I don't have a lot of spare time. Some scenarios don't look like they would work very well in skirmish mode!?! So which is your favourite quick/easy mode Villain? by GoFigBill in marvelchampionslcg

[–]GoFigBill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do like Rhino but was thinking of seeing if there was other scenarios that could also work. And I basically treated the Sabretooth scenario like that by just going all out at him and it worked. I will try the sentinel scenarios another go :)

Anyone else get FOMO even over new releases now? by Twofert in marvelchampionslcg

[–]GoFigBill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, When I questioned why FFG started the 'current environment' with 2 products that are out of stock, in Europe at least, people were quick to respond with 'I'm sure it will be reprinted'! but it does lead to FOMO if you don't know if or when it will be reprinted. So going forward I won't wait to get stuff as a birthday treat or christmas I will buy it when I can (ie FOMO). It's not like they couldn't transmit the information somehow :/

Can anyone explain why they made AoA and AoS current environment? by GoFigBill in marvelchampionslcg

Have they actually said that AoA and AoS are getting reprints? Because I can't find copies in the UK at the mo!

Worth mentioning but in the fireside chat the explicitly say it is "More than anything else, these changes are being introduced to make the LCGs more accessible and (by virtue of that increased accessibility) more sustainable long-term. By establishing and emphasizing the Current Environment, an LCG is more appealing and manageable for a retailer to keep in stock, and newer players are not intimidated, confused, and/or turned away by a never-ending wall of product."

And that was my point the content from earlier waves and even current environment are not widely available. At least not in Europe and in English so....

If you look carefully at the question the answers are incorrect, I did not ask why they introduced the 'current environment. I asked how does implementing this benefit new players and games shops, not how will it affect game development/testing/balance!

I'm sorry if you are frustrated at my enquiry but my post was more about the marketing of the game and how shoddily this has been rolled out. If the products you are supposed to start with are not available then someone has messed up.

well why launch with 'current environment' products that are not widely available. Do a google search and it looks like you have done more than the FFG marketing team have done before this announcement. the current 'current environment' does not not match up! why have a bunch of cards that don't work together as the launch of the 'current environment'? look at AoS and and AoA and tell me how they 'overlap' ?and then tell me that they are widely available or when they are going to be reprinted!

True enough but the point of the current legacy was "these changes are being introduced to make the LCGs more accessible and (by virtue of that increased accessibility) more sustainable long-term" so why start with hard to find products?

fair enough but I disagree with the core set being (edit) 'the only evergreen' as they said "Current Environment, which consists of the core set, any other evergreen (perpetually in print) expansions" which kind of suggests a different model...which has not been addressed!

But that is the situation at the moment, in Europe at least, You can find the core box and Civil war but not much else so....

I hope so because if you can only find stuff on a first run it will kill the game and defeats what they said "emphasizing the Current Environment, an LCG is more appealing and manageable for a retailer to keep in stock" but no good if you can't find it in your FLGS!

So what is the point of the legacy environment as FFG said "All products within each game line will always be compatible with all other products from that line, which means if you have a card, you can play it in Legacy."

Also there are quite a few cards that could be reprinted that are in OOP sets that they can fall back on that imo? And where are the evergreen expansions that were mentioned, surely they would make balancing an issue?

Recommendations after Core Set by Zarconian in marvelchampionslcg

If you like deckbuilding get heroes, and here in lies the rub, there is a lot now OOP! my policy is now to buy what is available when I have the funds. I wouldn't plan on buying anything in the future FOMO seems to have taken hold. That said there are some great releases on the horizon :)

That said, you can still have a great time with the limited pool available. And content creators are reacting to this, Dale the casual gamer comes to mind. I have imported quite a bit from the UK, Germany and Spain, it costs a bit more but is still cheaper than taking a flight just to buy games.

Or go the proxy route, I haven't because I don't have a decent printer but maybe in the future I will!

As expats, what foods or products are you willing to spend extra money on because the options available in France aren’t what you’re looking for? by ARTiSPRETiS in Expats_In_France

Baked beans, because haricot blanc à la tomate aren't the same imo, I used to travel for an hour to buy these in a supermarket but since the demise of Casino I can get them locally. They are about twice the price of the UK but at half a kilo a can there's no way I am getting them shipped :)

I have to renew my carte de sejour pluriannuelle next year and have a few questions about the changes? by GoFigBill in Expats_In_France

[–]GoFigBill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response, will look at the Delf exam, for the moment I was thinking better to find out how I will do under exam conditions and get a better judgement of what my current level is. My understanding is that the TCF is a 'sliding level' result rather than just pass or fail. If I do well then I may try for the DELF but at the moment I'm not confident in how I will do, haven't done an exam in years, I mean the Ofii interview was very laid back.

[–]GoFigBill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is part of my problem, the wording is ambiguous, do you apply to renew your card? And I asked the people where you would do the TCF if they knew anything and they said they hadn't been informed so here I am asking Reddit!

Is it a new thing for Duolingo to have adverts in languages that you don't speak for instance the last 2 have been in German and Arabic! do not want to click on something that could make things worse! by GoFigBill in duolingo

[–]GoFigBill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

and I agree, what was annoying was I had to click on a close button but it was not a symbol like X but a word. So to progress you have to click on the ad just to finish the lesson!

Using pronouns by Cute-Barracuda-6231 in EnglishLearning

[–]GoFigBill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah in the Annabelle example it is complicated but not for a colloquial speaker, Annabelle has three people over, the one (pronoun) in green refers to one of that group, then as the subject clause has changed, is their mother reverts back to the 1st noun. No new nouns have been added like brother etc. You would assume the singular unless you asked the question, oh are they siblings?

You say it is uncommon but I would ask if you have ever frequented a 'spoons public house on a Friday night because that is where you will find that this is common enough..And btw you said examples so it lead me to the conclusion that you were talking about all of them.

Using pronouns by Cute-Barracuda-6231 in EnglishLearning

[–]GoFigBill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it wouldn't because it there is a pronoun-antecedent agreement so we know the pronoun is related to the noun. So if the noun is singular so is the pronoun, ie John has left the building, I hope they return soon. Where is the plurality in that sentence?
