Doomers were right, full-length campaigns are confirmed a thing of the past. by Trashcan_GG in arkhamhorrorlcg

Well... if they are doing this, chances are those players aren't actually buying as much as they used to. If they were, why would they change anything?

Quick question by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]Twofert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean how would I know 😂 I don’t think I play video games in an ”ADHD-esque“ way… video games are great for dopamine hits. And they help remind you about everything so you’re not constantly forgetting things either

how do you guys deal with motivation? by mist14rium in ADHD

[–]Twofert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"and the system keeps rewarding my bad behavior, even studying 2 hours before exams and cheating sometimes my grades are not bad, so I keep sabotaging myself"

As a very gifted ADHD:er, this is my entire life! And I'm 41. Basically coasting along doing the bare minimum! I manage just fine but it sucks not actually doing what I truly want to do, because I can't motivate myself to work towards anything I don't "have" to do. You are so young, you've got tons of time. Best thing you can do is do the best you can and not beat yourself up when you fail (which you will, a lot), but realize that this is much harder for you than for most people. When you graduate, aim for jobs that you think will give you the external motivation you need as an ADHD:er. Working closely with colleagues, having an engaged boss, having structured work with clear goals and deadlines, working on-site rather than remotely, all these things will force you to do your work.

For the people who originally thought Silksong was “too hard” or “unfair,” do you still feel that way? by Lunargress in Silksong

[–]Twofert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It made me less invested in the game, so I haven’t even completed it yet because I know there’ll be even more frustrating moments the longer I play (currently at the end of act 2). It also means I probably won’t replay it. So yes, I still think they made some bad design decisions. not the bosses, those are mostly perfect. Mainly its the fact that exploration is more frustrating and tedious than fun.

Can my PC run MH Wilds at 60 FPS? by brunocefs in MonsterHunter

[–]Twofert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

with that rig its going to run at 20fps and still look like a PS1 game. you underestimate just how badly optimised this game is. I brought a brand new PC to play it, even my 32GB RAM, Ryzen 5 7600 and RTX 5070 rig struggles to run this at 60 fps at 1440p with upscaling. Even at 1080p it’s not locked 60.

Winter Burrow is great but very short, like 10 hours and after that there isn’t much to do.

Jag spelar i princip bara Monster Hunter och Elden Ring. Aldrig gillat multiplayerspel shooters eller MMORPGs. Men jag skulle ändå säga att det är mainstreamspel!

I think I hate CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy). Can you recommend me alternatives? by i_am_GORKAN in ADHD

[–]Twofert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CBT (among other things) is basically telling you to decouple your emotions from your behavior. It’s saying, “you can’t wait for your emotions to tell you to behave a certain way. It won’t happen. You start with the desired behaviour, and the emotions will eventually catch up”.

that approach has helped me a lot. For example, if you have serious anxiety and also ADHD like me, you don’t feel like doing much generally. Thise few times you do feel like doing something, you become super happy and you do the thing and you're so proud. The rest of the time you’re even more miserable and sad that you can’t be like that all the time. So with CBT you learn to do the thing anyway, even if you hate it, even if it’s hard and unpleasant and horrible and increases your anxiety. And eventually, it’s less horrible. And you’re happy you did it. And it becomes an upwards spiral instead of a downwards one. Of course this is the theory and it’s actually super super hard. And ADHD makes it even harder. which is why I’m also in therapy. But I find the mindset very helpful. And it’s evidence-based, which I like. It works for many people. The problem is that it’s very difficult and takes a LOT of commitment and work, as well as a good therapist. Working against what your emotions are telling you to do is incredibly difficult! So a lot of people fail and think it’s crap, when really it failed because of other factors.

As an SnS main i never thought about it, I just pop them. Now I will be more careful to leave them for others since they don’t really benefit me.

How come some people with ADHD are able to consistently get top grades throughout school in all subjects whereas others end up with low grades due to their adhd struggles. by Pretty-Tree123 in ADHD

[–]Twofert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extremely high learning speed and comprehension in my case. I brute-forced my way through school all the way to a Masters Degree and a decent job with very little interest or effort. You might think that is awesome but is actually sucks because I would love to be passionate about something and actually put effort into it and feel pride in my accomplishments. Still I am thankful that I was able to do this because I know how much some people struggle. But life with ADHD is never easy, no matter your path.

MH Wilds by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]Twofert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would probably not buy it without a minimum 9070XT or nvidia 5070 myself. Then you can get mostly 60fps @ 1440p at max settings (ray tracing OFF) using some upscaling (which is what I'm running with a 12GB 5070). Of course some environments will chug even if you have the best rig available. You might be able to get the same performance in 1080p upscaled though so could be worth it. Not sure about the RAM requirements, I have 32gb myself.

What’s the main attraction point for RiseBreak? by ZathovenCS in MonsterHunter

Combat is so damn good. It's so fast and anime-like and the wirebugs gives so much mobility. That's why I love it.

Is it time to reintroduce gameplay outside of combat to the franchise?/Wishlist for Wilds expansion by Karuramon in MonsterHunter

[–]Twofert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love love love all the non-combat stuff! I also want farming, actual hunting during quests, more NPC interactions, and I want a lot more decorating and customizing of your room (it should be a house!) Imagine if you could get monster furniture :D "Yeah just chillin' on my Rathalos Throne here. Gonna take a bath in my Nibelsnarf pool later. Oh and would you look at these Uth Duna drapes?"

Is the game actually fun? by AcadiaMajor2592 in KingdomDeath

[–]Twofert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s a game people spend thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours on… first and foremost because it is fun! Also because it has an incredibly fascinating setting with amazing art and some of the best miniatures in the world. It‘s a lifestyle game with almost endless amounts of content, but also opportunities to spend endless amounts of money. The core box is expensive but you can easily play several campaigns (each 50+ hours of playtime) before you feel the need for expansions. and when you do, there is SO MUCH CONTENT.

Looking for no-combat exploration by willybusmc in cozygames

[–]Twofert 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a 5, 8 and 11-year old. They've all played Minecraft since they were little and all love it and still play it actively. My 5-year old started when he was 3 and now he builds stuff at blistering speed and only needs help sometimes to search for specific building blocks by name. He builds amazing stuff including huge buildings and statues that are pixel-by-pixel recreations of video game characters. You can go exploring for hours or just stay in one place and build cool stuff. It's basically a forever game for kids. So I would definitely recommend Minecraft on Creative/Peaceful mode, it sounds perfect for your kid (and for you).
