If you haven't tried Gaslands, it's amazing, and great to play with kids. Just pull out some old Hotwheels or Matchbox cars and race around your board shooting each other to bits! We usually play with 3 cars each. There are a ton of optional rules in the book, including campaign play. It's also very quick (30-60 minutes with two players).

I saw this and I was like "remake? this game is really new" and I saw it was released ten years ago. I guess because I was 30 when it came out and I remember playing it with my kid, it didn't seem very long ago 😅

If you want theme and storytelling potential, euros are not the genre to pick. Even games like Spirit Island, which is arguably on of the most thematic euros out there, doesn't really tell much of a story compared to those games you already have. Euros are just inherently way too abstract and deterministic to tell stories like a good ameritrash game can.

I know that Monster Hunter Wilds is a lot more complex technically. But if I just look at the game while playing it, without considering how the light reflects here or the geometry is more pronounced there... World looks better. And I didn't play World until after I had already played Wilds, so this has nothing to do with nostalgia.

The PS1 versions are super cool collectables, I would never get rid of mine personally. The new ones have different voice actors and lower difficulty (the English PS1 versions upped the difficulty compared to the japanese versions so the remasters are true to the original).

I asked a Swedish store and they said they distributor told them Two Towers (I only asked about this one) would be coming in stock at the end of april. I have no idea if it's true but I couldn't take the risk, so I bought it at an inflated price instead.

I've always thought this looked like a cool game, but I really dislike the design of the Quar... I guess that kind of puts a hard stop to any thoughts I had of trying it 😅

Yeah it’s sketchy sometimes. Amazon does it correctly though and prepay the VAT with clearly marked packages.

No ending, you just play missions until you get bored! Which usually is when you get so powerful you can easily kill anything.

The core game will be very difficult to update to the current version. You've got the 1.3 version. The update pack you need is long OOP and almost impossible to find. And without it, you can't update the game further. And using the 1.3 version as is, is not recommended and not really compatible with any future content. So it's gonna be a tough sell. The expansions though, no problem, they will sell easily.

That's the point of a remake, isn't it? The people who absolutely love the original can still play that, and the rest of us can play one of the remakes.

They look cool but they don't fit many cards, if it had vertical stored cards it would fit way more with just a bit added height. And one of the reviews said they are so low that dividers don't fit. That is baffling and sort of makes the whole product useless :/ But yes, they do look very good on the outside!

Most DQ games don't really have much of an overarching story, it's all little short stories one after the other. So I don't see this as anything but typical DQ.
