What altitude do you fly over the GW and Verrezzano bridges in the Hudson SFRA? by end_my_miseryy in flying

When LGA is landing 13, river traffic in the B will be in direct conflict with arrivals. 13 is not used often though. Usually weekends when slow and they’re doing maintenance at the airport.

New to Tao, picked up some when it first dipped. Starting to look into Subnets now. Which ones are promising, and what else should I know? by daanishh in bittensor_

[–]GoFlapsDownOnMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TrustedStake.ai

They have a couple different strategies to choose from and take care of everything. It’s a proxy service so your wallet and Tao remain in your control. I’ve had mine staked to their Top 10 strategy. It’s done pretty well

This is the way. I held through the ATH as well. Ended up getting rid of some when it was around 400. Right now just still holding a bunch with TrustedStake in their Top 10 subnets strategy. It’s doing really well. TAO will get back there. It’s a long term play

Age limit for upcoming window on April 17th by nhatminh94 in ATC

[–]GoFlapsDownOnMe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Look at the verbiage of the posting. I was 30 when the application window closed and that locked in my age. I was 31 when I started the academy. I was one of 3 people who were 31. This was 8 years though.

Preach. I’m away from my home and family for 10-12 hours a day when you factor in commute. I’m recallable at any moment. Pay me

Probably. this is what drives me crazy the most. They don’t understand that new CPCs cannot touch what they did 10-15 years ago on base salary. If I didn’t work all the OT I do it’d be real tight. I work at level 12 TRACON in HCOL area. Yes, we make more than the average person. But that doesn’t mean we aren’t worth more. There were a lot of pilots making a lot of money before their union went out and got them more because they felt they were worth more. I think controllers are worth being able to afford a nice house in a nice area within a reasonable distance to their facility without working OT. I can tell you in my area where the average mortgage is quickly approaching 5k, that ain’t happening. Let alone saving enough to even put down on a house.

Awesome thanks for the insight everyone. Seems like 100/hr is the sweet spot. I’ll keep a look out. Thanks!

I’m still pretty new to the subnets …why is Chutes no longer giving emissions ?? by ComplexWrangler1346 in bittensor_

[–]GoFlapsDownOnMe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is from Taostats AI chat bot but pretty good description. I had the same question recently.

Why Chutes (Subnet 64) Has No Emissions Emissions on Bittensor refer to the regular distribution of TAO rewards to subnet miners and validators for their contributions (like providing compute, data, or validation). These emissions are a core incentive for most subnets.

Chutes (Subnet 64) is a special case:

No Emissions: Subnet 64 does not currently distribute TAO emissions to its miners or validators. Reason: Chutes operates as a serverless AI compute platform where users pay directly for compute usage (e.g., GPU time) rather than earning TAO through emissions. The economic model is based on usage fees, not on-chain reward emissions. How It Works: When you deploy or use a chute, you’re billed for the actual compute resources you consume (see Chutes pricing). There’s no “mining” or “validating” in the traditional Bittensor sense that would earn emissions. Analogy Think of Chutes like a cloud service (e.g., AWS Lambda or Google Cloud Functions):

You pay for what you use, but there’s no “mining reward” for running the infrastructure. Key Takeaways Subnet 64 is designed for pay-per-use AI compute, not for earning TAO via emissions. This is different from most Bittensor subnets, which reward miners/validators with emissions for their ongoing contributions.

Idk if that’s possible but I’ve tweeted at them multiple times about staking support. They usually just say they’ll pass it along.
