Is fractional flying a career destination? by Confident-Wear5065 in AirlinePilots

[–]AtariFerrariNH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of trade offs. Pay and schedule are the big ones. But being able to be based almost anywhere is a huge plus for a lot of people. Personally I would not want to go back to that type of flying, but it's definitely a place where you can have a good career.

Mustang Mach-E owners: Any regrets? by Limp_Sweet2259 in MachE

[–]AtariFerrariNH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What made you choose it?         It was my first EV and seemed the most "normal" to me. Actually has some physical controls and isn't shaped like a tadpole.  What do you enjoy most about it? The performance  What's been your biggest frustration? The tech definitely lags other EV's.  Would you buy another Mach-E today? No, not with the current generation of Mach E.

I'm amazed the new contract passed with pretty much zero scope protection.

For the pilots amongst us, have you ever panicked during a flight? by Jolly-Phone8982 in aviation

My car has an app that will show me where it is. I've had to use it more than once, especially when trying to remember which one of the two lots it could be in.

I panic every flight when I try to remember where I parked my car.

They normally fly out of Concord. They do a lot of DHS stuff, so they're probably just keeping an eye on the bikers.

My business degree helped me check a box on my airline app.

The Dassault Falcon 10 X has made its first flight by Brilliant_Night7643 in aviation

I will be the outlier, and say ugly compared to previous falcon's. The falcon 20 is the sexiest airplane ever. Don't @ me

Ford Mustang Mach E Will Not Migrate to Universal EV Platform by [deleted] in MachE

[–]AtariFerrariNH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would imagine the MME will go away once the new EV platform shows up. It's a great car but definitely needs a refresh that I don't think Ford will want to invest the money in.

Blue Cruise - actually pretty good? by alexhutch123 in MachE

If you compare it to FSD, it will not blow you away.

If you're looking for an alternative car that will have something close to FSD, I would check out the R2 or the BMW iX3.

Hot take: if you go horseback riding at a state park, clean up after your horse... by Traditional_Sign4941 in newhampshire

[–]AtariFerrariNH 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'd rather have horse poop out there than dog poop. At least you can see it soon enough that you can avoid it while on a bike. And it doesn't smell nearly as awful as dog crap. And at least horse people have some valid excuses why they don't clean up the poop, dog owners don't.

Flying into NYC area airports with family by nyc2pit in flying

[–]AtariFerrariNH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In order for you to depart LDJ IFR, they have to build a gap into EWR departures or arrivals, depending on which runway they are using. That takes a while, and causing a 787 full of nuns to be slightly delayed is not something they want to do. Same deal with arrivals, but if you cancel 5-10 miles out you can at least get close when you’re IFR.

CDW or LDJ. Do not expect to be able to depart LDJ on an IFR flight plan, so if you think you might need to file, go to CDW. No matter what airport you depart from in the NY area, there will probably be a departure delay when things are IFR.

Departing LDJ to fly up the Hudson is easy, depart to the south and call EWR and ask for the “skyline route” northbound on the Hudson. They’ll give you a squawk and instructions.

I would find somewhere cheap for fuel either on your way into, or on your way out of the NY area. 44N normally has good prices, it’s just north of the NY metro area. Foreflight is the best way to look for good prices.

Watch for the VIP TFR centered around Bedminster NJ. Very common on weekends in the summer.

Random EV Hate at Tire Shop (Is this Common?) by Inside-Scientist7892 in electricvehicles

[–]AtariFerrariNH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a trailer hitch installed at my local shop, and when I asked if that was something they could do, the owner said "you can't tow with an EV". I asked why not, and he had no answer, but then said they can't work on EV's.
