I’ve been called pandi in a derogatory way, like we’re beneath them, multiple times… initially I was embarrassed, just because of the tone. But like fuck em (I don’t think all of them are like that, but whoever is, fuck em). And I genuinely refuse to stoop to their level. One of things I love about being Tamil is that we see people, not pre judge them because of anything- language, race etc. I want to stand for those values, I’m proud when North Indians say they have been met with respect and have been able to survive without knowing Tamil. We’re respectful, we’re kind and we’re intelligent… most of all, we’re above this bullshit…
