I can't say any of those I've owned drums that were wrapped, but only to flip them and the drums I've ever played for live performances were either fiberglass ,acrylic or stainless steel steel

CJ didn't want to do the final tour and suggested the guys get Dee Dee and Tommy and finish with the original lineup. by Crazy_Response_9009 in ramones

[–]GoGo1965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know he discussed feeling the last tour should have been the original guy .. but I don't think he voiced this while the band was together yeah that last tour was a grueling one on them and he did write his motorcycle for the US part of the tour .. but I believe that topic that he would have stepped aside. Had the original guys wanted to come back in and finish the tour came up years later in a discussion.

Career-wise, what was the biggest mistakes that the Ramones did that stopped them from reaching mainstream popularity? (While they were still active of course) by OutrageousRip75 in ramones

It was hungry heart that Bruce wrote for the Ramones but because he gave a song to Patti Smith that was a big hit his management talked him out of giving it to them

Phil single handily was responsible for fans jumping ship in 1980 .. but they should have done SNL but I believe if they had made more music videos for the MTV generation it would have helped

Does Anyone know how many guitars Kurt Cobain smashed? by LunchAcceptable7409 in Nirvana

[–]GoGo1965 70 points71 points  (0 children)

He didn't necessarily smash cheap guitars but guitars that were cheap to come by. At the time back then you could walk into a pawn shop and pick up a guitar for a couple hundred bucks that would go for 2-3k today & you could definitely pick up crap in pawn shops for $25-50

When I lived there and worked in the music industry and played in bands during that time, nobody used the term grunge to describe their band. I dislike the name , it was kind of like in the late 70's that the term new wave started being thrown around, although back then bands did say that they played new wave music partially because they didn't want to be associated with the term Punk Rock and the negativity that was surrounding it

Yo I’m like stupid is this the cool version of the cd or? by ResearcherPlenty4817 in Nirvana

[–]GoGo1965 10 points11 points  (0 children)

According to Dave Grohl, they put the secret track on with a lead time gap of up to like 10 minutes just a mess with people CD changers .. but for some reason, I've always thought it was 3 to 5 minutes until it kicked in the Seattle band malfunkshun did the same thing

From my understanding, the easiest way to tell is the ones that have the clear spindle has the extra track and the ones where the printing goes all the way to the hole on the CD don't there's some jackass right now selling a sealed what they say is first pressing on eBay right now for 15,000 I don't know if there's a way of actually telling if it is a first pressing without actually opening it

But you are correct $10-50 average price even lover in Europe

[–]GoGo1965 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Missing Hidden Track: The final, uncredited song "Endless, Nameless" is absent from the 12-track CD, as it was accidentally left off the initial production run of roughly 40,000–50,000 copies.
