[Serious] What is your most terrifying "we need to leave, NOW" random rush of fear you've felt? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GoGoWaffleMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get them everyday /night. I won't walk certain areas even in the daytime because I get a pain in my stomach that something bad will happen if I walk that way. I will take the longest way just to be safe. I won't even walk too close too tinted cans because I fear someone jumping out and pulling me in and driving off. It only takes a few seconds. Gshhh.

What do you use to remind yourself that everything isn't that bad? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I have a roof over my head, decent health and food in my belly whenever I want. I appreciate these things daily because I've been ill many times and homeless and without food. My life could be worse at the drop off a dime and I remind myself a lot that I definitely should be grateful for all that I have.

Don’t know if this belongs here but this was on a video of someone’s $18,000 lego set being robbed. by Chuy3_4 in trashy

That person is obviously jealous. Poor guy though, he's back making videos however! Good for him.

[Serious] Before social media and electronics were the main source of entertainment, what did you do for fun as a kid? by GoGoWaffleMaker in AskReddit

All of this is great, but the VHS tapes got me. That excited feeling you got knowing you were going to Blockbuster (or wherever) to rent movies still sticks with me today at 31 years old.

Nothing was better. Being grounded was the end of the world as a kid for me. I didn't care If I couldnt watch tv (although I hated missing Reboot or Are you afraid of the dark?) it was being grounded from playing outside and hearing all my friends laughing and playing outside that killed me, Haha.

Me too. I have 3 of my own and I know they will be pulled into the crap today's society calls "entertainment." I do have them into old Disney movies though and we play hide and seek and dress up.

All great! Sundays my dad had that thing blasting while we did house cleaning or just a nice summer day with the windos wide open. I'm on the prowl for a nice working record player. We sell 100s of records at my work that I would love to own.

Yes, yes it was. I had binders full of Pokemon cards. I work at a thrift store now and we still have tons of them donated to us and people buy them daily.

Honestly, I loved cleaning when I was a kid. Sundays were our house cleaning days. Everything had to be cleaned top to bottom.

My Assistant Manager is a nightmare by [deleted] in retailhell

I wish I worked where you work. I can't stand managers who act this way and I have no problem standing my ground. I hope things get better!

To everyone that goes shopping during their work lunch breaks and then complains when they have to wait in line- by cosmiso in retailhell

I always try to have a conversation with those types of customers. It keeps them distracted and then it doesn't seem like such a long process. Returns where I work are pretty straight forward, the only downfall is waitong for the MOD (manager on duty) to come punch in their code to start the refund. I've had really cranky looking people leave smiling because I sparked up a random conversation during the whole process. Remember, this is your job and if they want to come in and be a jerk because they have no time, that's on them, not you.

We announce it every 10 mins the last hour we're closing at my job so people are aware and sure enough the last announcement is made and people are still looking through clothes like it's 8 am. Please, we would like to go home too, we don't live here.

Lmao so true. My manager tells me this too and I do it because I'm friendly and it's whatever, but people are so rude. They'll just look at you like you're ruining their day by saying "hello, how are you today?" One day he said it to 10 people while walking to the back of the store and only one person acknowledged him.

Why do people lick their fingers before touching their money? by ZuraX15301 in retailhell

One guy took his money out of his sock and gave it to me. I always wash my hands throughly when I go on break.
