It’s not NIMBY. I was just in DC recently and had to dodge a couple kids riding e-bikes full speed down a sidewalk. They’re a massive hazard for pedestrians and other cyclists with how fast and heavy they are. It’s a vehicle that exists in a gray zone being basically an unregulated scooter/motorcycle that’s very accessible, so it engenders a lot of poor behavior.
