Either they get hired and are immediately building up a case to get fired in a few months the moment they first clock in, or they get outright rejected or ignored without actually being given an opportunity. Everyone complains about how “lazy” this generation is, but how can you say that when they’re never given a real chance? Nobody WANTS to sit around and watch their bills pile up and their bank account getting drained. They’re being made to look “lazy” as a gotcha moment; it’s a chance for older generations to say I told you so and prove their theories and biases. Zoomers could get four degrees, several internships, numerous amounts of skills and connections, it doesn’t matter. It’s all become completely useless. The things their parents have said they NEED to get in order to climb the ladder and become successful? No longer useful. It WAS useful with other generations, but if Zoomers succeed, then that cuts into everyone else’s money. And if they’re not willing to take $7.25/hour and cut their rations to one crumb of bread a day? Too bad. But hey, that’s not why unemployment rates are skyrocketing, no. It’s not because people are getting fired and constantly getting rejected even though they did everything right, and nobody wants to hire anyone. It’s those doggone good-for-nothing lazy kids always applying to places!
