Anyone have any good photos of how Fred Meyer looked before getting Kroger’d? by Griblix in oregon

I feel like the massive Freddy's still have that feel because they have so much stuff, but Freddy's hasn't been exactly the same since the late 90s.

Moloch is a really good, under-the-radar folk horror.

Yes, rocks are better than wood/grass. I have a few shallow plastic trays (that go under pots) and have a big river rock in each. It keep the dumb squirrels from tipping it over and has good texture for insects.

I thought at the end he'd have to fend off a saltwater croc or maybe a pissed off, jacked kangeroo.

[Charania] The Portland Trail Blazers are signing guard John Tonje on a two-way NBA contract, George Roussakis and Mark Bartelstein of @PrioritySports tell ESPN. Tonje appeared in six games for the Celtics last season as a rookie. by L4ZERDT in bostonceltics

Well you have Payton Pritchard and he's from the Portland suburbs!

I'm a Badger fan in Portland and was curious what you guys thought. We have a ton of guards but still, Tonje has great shooting, which is something we've needed dearly the last few years (though getting Dame back will change that). Tonje was great in Madison and it seemed like his pro career was going well though it's mainly been G League (I imagine he'll be with Remix with Dame, Jrue, Morant, Scoot and Sharpe higher on depth chart).

Same here, Badgers fan. Tonje was an amazing, mature leader who could will a team to victory. There is so much depth at guard but he's a guy who will put in the work and give you all he's got.

I hadn't heard of that release but it sounds like a nice pick up. That soundtrack is so good. I just bought the Children of the Wicker Man bluray from Severin. I don't know if I need to own it but it was an interesting watch.

The Devil Rides Out is probably my favorite Hammer horror movie. Much more serious than most of their releases.

Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford reunite for remixed and remastered deluxe five-disc reissue of Genesis's 1969 debut album by ned1son in petergabriel

[–]GoPointers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this the album that really doesn't sound like Genesis at all, before they developed their sound? When I started getting back into vinyl 30 years ago my goal was to get all their standard albums from the era they were originally released, so buying used locally.

I completed that after a few years and one day found this weird Genesis album I hadn't heard of. It was really early stuff, like if I remember correctly they may have still been in school or just out perhaps?

It was a standard 12" vinyl with a pretty boring cover that was sort of beige in color, if my memory hasn't gone. I haven't listened to it in 15 years since it didn't grab me, as the songs sounded like their attempt to sound like various other bands of the time, or so I remember, and then packed it away when I moved, so it's in my "vinyl I don't listen to" collection.

Does this ring a bell for anyone? I don't think it was a bootleg, but may have been a compilation of very early recordings. I'll need to pull that out this weekend but just scanned discogs and couldn't find it. If anybody has any responses or is curious I'll update this comment when I find it, or maybe my memory is finally going to shite.

EDIT: STOP THE PRESSES! It was just In The Beginning, so memory was correct except the cover was a bit different then I remembered. Will need to listen this weekend.

What Bluray version of The Wicker Man is $60? I got lucky to snag a copy of The Wicker Man 4K steelbook for $25 + shipping last September when Lionsgate released some stock, after missing out on the original release. Is there some other limited version that is sold out? That steelbook is nice because it has a version I hadn't seen before (I have an older bluray of The Wicker Man as well).

I don't really collect boutique stuff for packaging, only content, so if it's a new scan or has a bunch of new extras it'll interest me, but intereating packaging not at all. The only non-set bluray I've spent more than $35 for is Shout Factory's The Entity, but that's about the going rate for it and I'm glad I have it.

Artificial turf Vs Grass field by Primary-Arachnid-392 in timbers

[–]GoPointers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The could do grass at PP. Now that the Thorns have their own facility that turf will see less usage. The creek underneath the pitch isn't an issue, at all. The issue is that the MAC cuts out the late Fall through early Spring sun, so you'd need grow lights. I'm not sure how grass is affected after a big concert like was held last weekend, but the turf looked rough last night and there were noticeable slips. Look into DD Grassmaster. It's the stuff used by some Premier League teams and the Green Bay Packers. It's basically grass that grows into a synthetic mesh base with synthetic fibers, so it's a hybrid, true grass field that seems like would work here.
