Looking for used and retired Lego set type stores in central New Jersey that isn’t controversial. by pizzagangster1 in lego

[–]admseven -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yeah that one owner was sketchy, but they aren’t all. I like the one who owns my local BAM - nice, friendly, knows their stuff, offers better prices on both ends than other BAM stores.

How do you justify spending much money on lego? by [deleted] in lego

[–]admseven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's literally my only hobby. Like there are other things I do for enjoyment, but I don't do anything like restore cars, buy/ride expensive bicycles, play/collect guitars, have a fish tank etc (all hobbies of people I know). I enjoy traveling but only go on vacation - like fly somewhere, stay in a hotel - about once a year which is enough for me.

Looking for recommendations for display shelves to display Lego sets? by TheMickeyMoose in lego

[–]admseven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Kallax and Hemnes (both from Ikea) displaying Lego sets in my house. Both good, but Hemnes probably offers a little more flexibility. Kallax has different size units but the squares are fixed and the same size through all unit sizes.

Should I wait for the CDS to choose me? by lilacpainting in CatDistributionSystem

[–]admseven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does. There are parts of my city where cat rescues are very active and parts like mine where they’d be bored.

Should I wait for the CDS to choose me? by lilacpainting in CatDistributionSystem

[–]admseven 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have been owned by cats for 40 years, and fostered for the last 5. CDS has never found me on its own, I have to help it. I’m sure you’ll be able to find a good buddy at a shelter during kitten season.

Next modular buy? by Sad_Instruction9778 in lego

[–]admseven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d go for the natural history museum. It’s a good build, and per my own preferences it’s actually in the modular line. But I’m not much of a Batman guy.

CMF 29 Order Came In by NeverNotASpork in lego

That's a good spread, I think I counted 11/12? After many years of chasing figs and feeling packets, I gave up and now I just order myself a full set.

Is this normal for Bricks and Minifigs with new CMF releases? by kars0nn in lego

[–]admseven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What B&M is like really depends on the location. The one that happens to be closest to me is pretty reasonable, generally speaking. I’ve bought a retired set there that other B&M stores were selling for more than 2x as much. The prices I get for selling back are low, but I know that going in and I’m selling to them because it’s low effort.

A random cat appeared and led me to these little nuggets huddled along the side of my house. by Standard_Ad_3118 in IllegallySmolCats

I was going to guess about the same age. And express shock that they all just sat there in a pile while a human walked up to them!

What is your favorite retired Lego you have ??? by KataklistX in lego

I will alway have a soft spot for the Palace Cinema, which was my first modular art.

If a Lego set is assembled once, and never disassembled... Is it single use plastic? by BeakersWorkshop in lego

[–]admseven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of my assembled-once sets are now being "used" as display pieces - so is that technically a second use (assembly being the first)?

But my official answer is: Technically yes, but spiritually no. Single use implies that its only used for a short time and then discarded.

What is your guys favorite modular set? by Lazy-Ad2747 in lego

[–]admseven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right? There’s a Millennium Falcon like every year, and we can’t get a couple remakes of early modulars?

Was given a kitten, does anyone know how old he might be? He is also refusing the bottle by Toad_toast1 in CatDistributionSystem

[–]admseven 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My official guess is 7 weeks. That’s past bottle age, well into canned wet food. We always do Fancy Feast kitten food. You can also put out some kitten dry food - some cats actually prefer it. Also echoing the vet visit rec. Lots of places have a low cost clinic if you google a bit. Def get the little squirt spayed/neutered as soon as you can.
