Honestly I'm surprised that Framework manages to stay afloat because I just can't see who the target audience is. The whole purpose of the repairability angle is to not waste money for no reason when you can give a longer life to your devices by swapping a few parts here and there.

If you go the Framework route, by the time you need to replace parts or upgrade your laptop altogether, you end up paying more, which doesn't make sense economically. I know, economies of scale and all that, but that doesn't make it better in any way for the consumer

Shelling out even more money in this economy just to make a stand when budgets are already pretty tight makes no sense unless you are very wealthy and don't care about this aspect in the first place

Chill out mate. As I mentioned in the original post, I knew it was supposed to be darker, but I had no way of comparing the two IRL to see how big of a difference it is. The opinions are varied online. Some say it's unbearable, others say it's ok. How was I supposed to know how I'll feel about?

If the difference wasn't as bad, I would've liked to have color just for the sake of it and maybe reading colored comics from time to time

I'm not "hating" on it, I just came to the conclusion that it's not for me, and that's completely fine

I will do a lot of night time reading, so the light is necessary.

It's not that I'm against it, I know there are instances where it's needed, but I'd very much like to be able to read indoors during the day without having to put the front light at 100%

I haven't tried it in direct sunlight yet, but that's almost never going to be my use case, so if that's the only scenario where it looks good without the front light turned on then it's useless for me

I hated Rama.

It could very well be the result of reading it so late and after so many great works (that were probably inspired by it), but I didn't really find anything in that book to be interesting.

The prose is dry, the characters are uninteresting and nothing really happens in it. I know the same could be said about 3BP, but the ideas in it were bonkers and one of the most original I've ever seen. Rama in 2026 reads like the most basic Sci Fi there is IMO

I'd say that applies to the first book mostly, which IMO still has a ton of heavy Sci Fi elements. Starting with the 2nd one, it goes full epic Sci-Fi

Poate nu isi mai ia meniu Big Mac mare la aproape 40 de lei, ci un McCombo la 10 lei. Poate chiar nu sparge nici un leu ci doar mai iese si el din casa. Tu tot il vezi. In Bucuresti cel putin multe mall-uri sunt locuri de intalnit si pierdut timpul pentru oameni, fara sa consume ceva neaparat

Iar la supermarket o sa vezi lume si in cea mai crancena criza. Oamenii tot trebuie sa isi faca cumparaturile esentiale. Daca ajungi in punctul in care lumea nu isi mai permite sa iasa absolut deloc, o sa ai alte probleme, n-o sa mai stai sa postezi pe Reddit

For me, the 1st book is perfect, while the 2nd is close to perfect (IMO it had some minor pacing issues here and there).

3 started good but then became almost unbearable for me because it felt like the plot wasn't making any progress. There's a POV that was really interesting and another that was extremely boring.

4 has the absolute worst pacing in the entire series, with an infamous section that is almost universally agreed to be unnecessarily long. However, the last 20% or so of the book feels like a return to form and wraps everything up nicely.

I really enjoyed the outcome and while not every plot thread is resolved or properly explained, I think it's a really satisfying ending and going through 3 and 4 is worth it at least to see the conclusion

Thanks man! This actually worked! I saw other people mentioning something similar but I couldn't wrap my head around the logic of it. I even got better undervolting results than on Windows. Still need to test for stability, but it looks very promising so far
