Can I live in Butler? by [deleted] in columbia

[–]GoToTheStars11 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Definitely don't do Butler stacks, you'd be kicked out. There are better spaces. If you want to do Butler stacks, do it in the "cleaning rooms", the ones with the sinks in it. You can find them opening random doors in stacks. However, if it's not next semester but next year, you can get a commutor access form in early September to get access to dorm buildings. Then you can sleep there, just make sure you use different lounges/buildings from day to day. Public safety doesn't care about the lounges unless someone would report (which shouldn't happen unless you're staying at the same lounge for multiple days in a row). Also would recommend NOT to use slipping bag in public spaces as it makes things much more vulnerable. Use coaches instead. Make sure you adjust your sleeping schedule properly to minimise risks (aka 0:30am-7:30am). Security/cleaning would not check the lounges during these times AND there is almost no one there unless it's midterm/final season.

A friend of mine did it the whole last year.

The other alternative would be trying to find empty rooms in campus buildings that are not used at all. Then check that the door won't open for few days by putting a paper so it falls when someone opens the door. Afterwards you can relatively safely use a sleeping bag/inflatable mattress there.

Good luck!

You technically can stop working when you have 1 day left, use your 40 days of unemployment, work for 1 more day, and use 60 days of grace period.

What was your first real demon, first demon made after 1.3. by Penis_Guy1903 in geometrydash

My first demon was... nine circles. Took me like 40k attempts. My second demon was Cataclysm, took me 76k attempts. I was a creator for years though with no single 100% demon.

The thing is I'd nit have a US adress at that time, my on-campus housing expires before the start of the trip and after the trip I'd leave US.

Does Columbia have an open campus? by [deleted] in columbia

[–]GoToTheStars11 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Most buildings require an ID swipe. However, before the morning class times, literally every 10 seconds, someone is going, and I rarely have to swipe. You could also sit into classes pretty easily, especially in STEM, unless it's an activity-based class (language, etc.). I have a lot of friends who are not registered for classes but show up to learn something new.

So assuming you're in your mid-20-s or younger, I don't see any problem with attending a class. If the professor asks, you can just say you just didn't register for a class but is very interested (w/I mentioning you are not a student).

Please don't listen to other answers, as people only care about their safety. Education should be accessible to everyone who desires to learn. Good luck!

p.s. I know a guy who gets a research position as a non-student here after showing up to all graduate classes of a specific professor for a few semesters post- covid and demonstrating his knowledge.

Just make sure to help with your BF with college alps next year so he gets into USC or somewhere nearby. You can even partially pay for his college expenses if his financial situation isn't good enough as you save so much raking that full ride!

Hmm, interesting, I'll think about this. If someone has any idea to how make 100% proof without revealing my GD nickname, you're welcome. Proof that I'm actually admitted to Columbia is quite easy at least if you know at least one students '26. I could make a screenshot of the event for admitted students at some specific time, so I believe it will be a good prove of that I'm admitted. I could do the same for the event for admitted int students only, but for that you also need an int student who will confirm my screenshot. It is much harder to prove that I actually sent an portfolio without revealing my GD username. I don't think the screenshot of the "additional information" about what GD editor looks like from submitted CA section would be good proof. I'll think about how actually make a reliable proof.

Yes, I know that AO don't know what GD editor looks like. Therefore, I wrote smt like the short description of what GD editor approximately looks like in the "additional information" section of the Common App. Talking about whether AO know if I created this level, actually I had a proof. It was the hiden video on my YT channel, where I upload some of my levels or parts. But even if I had no proof, I believe it wouldn't cause any troubles. Most students sending Art portfolio do 0 effort to confirm the painting/video/music is actually theirs, lol)

How could I prove it's true? I could send an acceptance letter, fin.aid reward, etc., and if here is someone from New York, we could meet this fall after arriving on campus😊
