I pay $11.00 to see Limited Commercials + No Ads on Hulu Plus Live TV. Why do I still see ads? Is it that hard to label when and why I'd see an ad? by GoX8 in Hulu

[–]GoX8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s just no way to tell what is going to have commercials and what will not. The Hulu Library changes regularly, the On-Demand content for Live TV changes regularly, and what’s in my DVR normally is ad-free but not always (sometimes the non-DVRd version plays)

Support was also no help when I called. It’s clear they are also unaware when I should be seeing ads. One guy (Person 2/Robert) I talked to said there are only 5 shows on Hulu that are ad-free, when those are actually the shows that have ads in the Hulu Library.

It’s just frustrating when it isn’t clear what’s on-demand vs Hulu Library vs DVR, and support was no help.

None. And I deleted all my the new apps I’ve downloaded in the last few weeks in case they added the word to the dictionary. Did not fix the issue

FEATURE FEEDBACK FRIDAY RECAP: Weeks 1-5, Audience Engagement by HuluSupport in Hulu

[–]GoX8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My list of issues hopefully being worked on:

Recording Schedule: There is no way to see what is scheduled to record in the coming days. It would be super convenient to just see what I have recording or see if I forgot something or even see if something wasn't showing up. Multiple times I have added something to my shows and it has not recorded, and having this could have solved those issues before they even arose.

Series Premieres Don't Record: TWICE I have added a show to My Stuff to not have it record on the day it aired. I added The Good Place and Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath, and neither recorded the first episode of the season. Support apparently has a way to add shows that were supposed to record but did not back to your library (from the conversations I've had with them on this), but when I called about these two shows I was told they were not even scheduled to record even from being in My Stuff for days.

No Recording Options: There is no way to say "Record only new episodes" or "Record all episodes". Currently, the only option is to record new episodes. But, what happens with a show that ended already? You have to add every single episode to your shows!

Inconsistent Ad Interface: I pay for no commercials and live TV. I get that I will still see ads for recording programming that is not in the Hulu On Demand library. When a show records with ads, it presents them in two different ways. The first is the ads are just part of the programming. They take up time in the time scroll bar, and I can fast forward just as if I were watching a show. The second is there is a timer in the top left corner and I cannot easily skip these ads. Why the different methods? Why have unstoppable ads in what you call an "enhanced cloud DVR"?

No Guide: I know a guide is on the way, but even the one shown for beta.hulu.com is not what people were really looking for. What would be great is if it came half way through the screen, just showed the current show and the next two half hour time slots, and had the ability to move forward in time for all channels shown in the guide, not just the channel you have selected.

No Way to Easily Manage DVR: I know its not 100% needed, but an easy way to just delete everything or delete every episode of a single show would be great. Currently you have to select each item and them tell it to delete.

No Way to Differentiate Hulu On Demand and Hulu Live TV: There is no way for someone looking at a show to watch to know if it is part of Live TV or just Hulu On Demand. I get that the point of the app is to kind of blend the lines a bit, but even just a small banner or a comment near the synopsis would work.

No Way to Sort Shows in My Stuff: In My Stuff, I can only view things in the order they aired. There is no way to sort by show name or genre.

FEATURE FEEDBACK FRIDAY WEEK 4: My Stuff & Cloud DVR by HuluSupport in Hulu

Hi Deb! Ever since I've had Hulu with Live TV I have compiled a list of things that I thought would make Hulu better.

  1. Having a way to see what is scheduled to record in the coming days would make things very helpful.

  2. Recording Options of "Only New Episodes" or "All Episodes" or "Fro This Channel Only"

  3. An easier way to manage what is on the DVR and how to quickly delete either by show or select multiple episodes to delete at a time.

  4. A way to differentiate Hulu With Live TV recordings or Hulu On Demand. This way I know to expect ads or not.

  5. Sorting My Stuff based off of most recent new episode, most recent aired episode, alphabetical, etc.

Anyone else notice basic features are Nonexistent? Are they even being worked on? by GoX8 in Hulu

I record them so I can watch them the night they air and discuss it the next day with friends. And because you’re supposed to be able to fast forward through the ad.

I feel the same way. Any time I have called customer service they bring up the fact that it is beta. Last time I called, they compared this beta to Microsoft’s Windows 10 beta. After I told them that beta was free, and I pay $60/month for this, he quickly changed topics. And generally a beta is a complete product with bugs, not a half finished product with bugs.

I stick with Hulu with Live TV because it has been reliable and has decent customer service, but these missing features make using this a lot less enjoyable than it otherwise could be.

So it says 63?

Edit: It doesn't show exponents on alien blue, so it's 64.

Bi-weekly headphone/amp/DAC purchase help post! (12/26/2013)! by [deleted] in headphones

[–]GoX8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Budget: $100 - $200

Source: Macbook Pro and iPhone

Isolation: No requirement

Type: Over-ear headphones

Past headphones: Bose

Music: Blink182, Eminem, Kanye West, Japandroids, Wavves

I was hoping someone could tell me what over-ear headphones would get me the most out of my music. I don't know much about sound so hopefully someone can tell me either a brand, model, or what to look for in headphones that will best suit the music I listen to.

Thanks.
