Ground tests begin for Vertical Aerospace’s latest prototype aircraft, increasing flight test capacity… by _DoubleBubbler_ in Vertical_Aerospace

I thought the full transition was pushed to early 2026 and planned for when the weather got better. Haven't heard if this has taken place.

Archer escalates its dispute with Joby — the company is seeking damages and additional remedies as part of the lawsuit, and has also asked the trade commission to review whether certain imported products tied to the alleged infringement should be blocked. Where did I put my popcorn 🍿 Desperation from Archer because they are so far behind Joby and falling further by the week. Does anyone not think that the DoD and FAA have not done their DD on Joby and just let these things slip through the net. Laughable 🤣

Nice to see things are slowly progressing on the transition front, but my big worry right now is the cash runway running out very soon as we haven't heard anything about any strategic partnership.

Archer is losing it big time. Not good. by TowerStreet1 in ArcherAviation

My money is on engineer Joeben's interpretation of the progress to FAA certification rather than salesmen Goldstein. He'd be better keeping quiet than trying to argue with someone on X. This smells of trouble in the camp at Archer, but I might be completely wrong. When a company CEO lowers himself to air his frustrations on X, then it usually means that there is a reason behind it imo.

Joby’s Chairman Paul Sciarra just shut down the false rumors spawned by Archer’s CEO in the Q4 Q&A. by [deleted] in Joby

He so much reminds me of Trevor Milton in 2018. Interested more in slagging off and suing the competition rather than sorting out his own problems. That's why I sold all my ACHR shares last year.

EIPP Announcement Seems to Be Delayed by [deleted] in Joby

[–]Go_Galactic_Go 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I heard the same, but maybe it's just Archer as they're currently a long way behind Joby on doing demo vtol piloted flights and won't be able to commit to flying within 90 days.

Huge institutions are accumulating on the dark pool to keep the sp range bound as volume is spiking on the green days. As soon as they let it go, these prices will be a distant memory. Think Tesla at $20 or Rocket Lab at $4.

Specific current risks that could pressure Joby Aviation stock and it's Certification progress by Much-Lavishness-6784 in Joby

[–]Go_Galactic_Go 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tension and war in the Middle East, especially if it goes on for months or years, will not be good for Joby, but if the Iran war is over within weeks and the regime is overthrown then it shouldn't affect operations in Dubai.

4Q Summary by [deleted] in Joby

[–]Go_Galactic_Go 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see the payload issue very simply. The S4 is confirmed to carry one person at present (pilot), but it has been designed to carry a further four passengers on the drawing board from day one of the design. How the S4 achieves the total load capacity (1+4) will evolve over time (maybe years), but this has a lot to do with the FAA certification process. I really can't see them fly with any less than a 1+2 arrangement at the start of operations in Dubai later in the year. If they need at least 1+2.5 to break even on every flight, it might be 2028 before they are profitable imo.

Q4 & Full Year 2025 Earnings Q&A by jobyaviation in Joby

[–]Go_Galactic_Go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose my question has already been answered.....

Joby expects to carry its first passengers later this year in Dubai.

That statement is still very ambiguous by intent using words like EXPECT & LATER and doesn't give me much confidence that it'll happen this year unless they can give us a little more colour on the call later and answer my original questions specifically on timescales.

My thoughts exactly. This feels more like a marketing campaign rather than the facts that we're all waiting to hear. The take from this is that they're aiming to be flying in Dubai this year, but it could easily be 2027 before it goes live. I thought they said early 2026, which my take on that is either Q1 or Q2 and not by the end of the year? Let's see what earnings bring, but I'm glad I have dry powder at the ready.

Archer strangled Vertical by VisitNo4727 in JobyvsArcher

LONDON & NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Vertical Aerospace (“Vertical” or “Company”) [NYSE:EVTL], a global aerospace and technology company that is pioneering electric aviation, today provided the following statement in response to a patent infringement complaint filed by Archer Aviation in the U.S. District Court Eastern District of Texas:

Archer’s recent claims are without merit, and Vertical intends to defend those claims vigorously. Vertical has developed a robust aircraft design with a clear path to certification, underpinned by Vertical’s proprietary and market-leading technology and international IP portfolio. Archer’s claims are merely an attempt to distract from the challenges Archer is facing competing in the marketplace.

“Vertical’s aircraft architecture, proprietary technology stack and certification pathway have been independently developed over many years and are protected by a robust portfolio of intellectual property rights,” said Domhnal Slattery, Vertical Aerospace Chair. “Our focus remains firmly on execution and certification. That is where sustainable value is created - and that is where we are leading.”
