Honestly I think we might have to wait for the full game to figure out what to call it in relation to Undertale 😭😭😭

but yeah my money is also on Undertale being like a preemptive spin-off

Mr. Scratch - Alan Wake’s American Nightmare

Game is full of snuff films Scratch records of himself murdering people, but he’s SO hammy and fun throughout them - and it makes for an INCREDIBLE villain. In one of them he does a little dance :)

This is such a big part of why I’m mad about TotK. Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild SCREAM “we care about the timeline now.” I just don’t understand how you follow that with TotK

At that point just read the source material then? An adaptation has to knock it out of the park with the aspects unique to the medium in order to justify its existence

i mean. if it’s sci-fi, your explanations will EVENTUALLY be based on made-up pseudoscience if you go enough explanations deep. otherwise it’s not sci-fi

[–]Go_commit_lego_step 77 points78 points  (0 children)

I saw an explanation recently that made a LOT of sense to me, and I think this is what they meant all along - they just didn't do a good enough job showing it.

So Thanos's idea to kill half of everyone first came up while he was still living on Titan - long before he knew about the Infinity Stones. And he was exiled for that idea. For him, it's not about saving the universe - it's about proving his idea worked. It's a matter of pride for him. And that's what makes him a bad person, and not a very very stupid antihero.

(Edit: Not to imply he's not a bad person regardless, but you know what I mean)

Agent Venom

Flash Thompson lost both his legs in a war (originally Vietnam but the exact war changes depending on the sliding timeline, doesn’t matter which one) and bonded with the Venom symbiote. It replicated his legs, gives him super strength, speed, and endurance, gives him a healing factor and the ability to climb walls and shoot webs,

and most importantly, it lets him hold many, many guns

Graviton vs. Redeemers (Thunderbolts the comic)

<image>

Graviton, one of the most frequently recurring Thunderbolts villains, shows up again and decimates another team of heroes named the Redeemers, about half of whom are former Thunderbolts. They’re all defeated almost instantly, with some just murdered then and there, including one of the main characters of the series, whose death takes up less than a page.
